When I was 15 I was almost murdered. That's what I was told by another teenager who rode his rusty BMX bike to the McDonald's in my Pittsburgh neighborhood to confront me. "I'm going to kill your black a**!" he screamed, wobbling his bike between his legs. I chuckled, as I often do when another black person calls me black, because, well, they're black as well.

As more and more people are legally carrying guns, there are more justifiable shootings and the crime rate drops.  A significant synergistic factor is the ubiquity of surveillance cameras and personal recording devices, such as cell phones and dashcams. New Jersey has made it almost impossible for law abiding citizens to own guns and concealed weapons permits are nearly impossible to acquire. SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A 17-year-old pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder in the beating death of 88-year-old Delbert Belton, a World War II veteran who survived the battle of Okinawa but was killed in a robbery outside a Washington state bar in 2013. Kenan Adams-Kinard pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in exchange for two lesser charges being dropped. African-Americans are victims of nearly half the murders committed in the United States despite making up only 13 percent of the population, a report published Thursday showed.
