WASHINGTON – Multiracial Americans have become the fastest growing demographic group, wielding an impact on minority growth that challenges traditional notions of race. The number of multiracial people rose 3.4 percent last year to about 5.2 million, according to the latest census estimates. First given the option in 2000, Americans who check more than one box for race on census surveys have jumped by 33 percent and now make up 5 percent of the minority population — with millions more believed to be uncounted. Demographers attributed the recent population growth to more social acceptance and slowing immigration. They cited in...

Hi Folks, proud black conservative Lloyd Marcus here. Years ago, I was outraged when a dear white friend said her son came home from middle school full of guilt for slavery. I thought, “Good grief, this kid was basically born yesterday. What on earth should he feel guilty about?” But, this is the liberal “white men are evil” and “America sucks” garbage he was being taught in school. Fast forward to today. My friend's son, “Jay”, not his real name, is a young man. He contacted me on Facebook. Jay wrote that my writings make him “scratch his head”, but...

My music producer Frank Starchak is a genius. I've challenged him to do something never before done on a commercial song recording. However, I feel it is necessary to evoke the emotion and magnitude of the tea party movement. As he's done numerous times in the past, Frank has risen to the occasion. He just played me the rough mix today. Folks, it gave me GOOSEBUMPS on GOOSEBUMPS! Tomorrow, I will perform my lead vocal. The national release date is JUNE 23rd. Can't wait for y'all to hear it. All the best, Lloyd Lloyd Marcus Singer/Songwriter of the American Tea...

New Orleans Black Leaders Accuse Letten of Racism in Indictmentsby Christopher Tidmore With the indictment of former New Orleans City Councilwoman Renee Gill Pratt's on racketeering and money laundering charges, murmurs of discontent with U.S. Attorney Jim Letten have begun to emerge from several quarters in the local black community. The accusation that the region’s senior prosecutor has disproportionately pursued corruption allegations in the African-American community continues to be levied. When Senator Mary Landrieu recommended the reappointment of Letten, a career prosecutor but also a GOP appointee of President George W. Bush, Danatus King, president of the New Orleans Branch...

Like global warming, swine flu and everything else wrong in the world, racist, sexist and homophobe, Rush Limbaugh is largely responsible for who I am today. In 1993, I had a great job as Art Dept. supervisor at an ABC affiliate TV station in Baltimore. The same station where Oprah was co-host on our morning show, years earlier. While minding my own business, my favorite radio talk show host was replaced with Rush Limbaugh. I thought, “Who is this wise guy?” A week later, I was hooked. Unapologetic, Rush courageously and boldly said everything I felt. Rush became my HERO!...

Facefwd.com <> The charges stemmed from an incident at a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day when three members of the party were accused of trying to threaten voters and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force - one even brandishing what prosecutors call a deadly weapon. The three black panthers, Minister King Samir Shabazz, Malik Zulu Shabazz and Jerry Jackson were charged in a civil complaint in the last days of the Bush administration with violating the voter rights act by using coercion, threats and intimidation. Shabazz allegedly held a nightstick or baton that prosecutors said...

At Daily Kos, there is a blog today on how to repeal Prop 8 in the future. LINK BELOW. Keep black and Hispanic turnout low, and counter Mormon Money... The title of the blog is "To Repeal Prop 8, Keep Black and Hispanic Turnout Low, And Counter Mormon Money." Does this sound to you like libs/Dems cherish black and hispanic votes? Does this sound to you like libs/Dems are against suppressing the minority vote? Don't libs/Dems want every vote to count? Could it be that libs/Dems only care about advancing liberalism and socialism and really don't care what they have...

I realize that many of you truly want to believe Obama is the great savior. At a party, astonishingly, someone said we should be patient with Obama because he is working down a list of everything wrong with America and fixing it. A friend even went as far as to say, “God will judge Foxnews for their negative reporting of Obama”. Unfortunately, I'm sure my friend is not alone in his belief that Obama is divine and anyone criticizing or opposing him is evil. And of course, almost every black I know, thinks I'm the world's greatest “Uncle Tom” for...

Black Washington is a “don't ask, don't tell” world. If people know, there's a “don't-rub-it-in-the-face” attitude. Homosexuals and heterosexuals exist in parallel universes; their relationship is complex and complicated. There is an unofficial covenant that seeks to prevent an intersection or damage the core conservative, Christian-based, African-American culture.

ATLANTA (AP) - It's been two months since 2-year-old Cori pulled the gold stud from her left earlobe, and the piercing is threatening to close as her mother, Maggie Anderson, hunts for a replacement. It's not that the earring was all that rare—but finding the right store has become a quest of Quixotic proportions. Maggie and John Anderson of Chicago vowed four months ago that for one year, they would try to patronize only black-owned businesses. The "Empowerment Experiment" is the reason John had to suffer for hours with a stomach ache and Maggie no longer gets that brand-name lather...

Saturday, for the first time in the history of Galveston County, an African-American woman was elected mayor. Geraldine Sam, 57, a lifelong resident of La Marque and an educator, edged two challengers to take her place in history by the narrowest of margins. “I cannot even describe how I feel,” Sam said, while celebrating with family and friends at a restaurant. “I was trying to eat earlier, and I can’t even eat. It’s amazing. Just awesome.” Sam received 355 votes, outlasting challengers James Osteen, 316 votes, and Bill Charbonneau, 289 votes, according to complete, unofficial results. Sam, who will serve...

Black Fortune 500 CEOs with a "babyface"appearance are more likely to lead companies with higher revenues and prestige than black CEOs who look more mature, an upcoming study says. In contrast with research showing that white executives are hindered by babyface characteristics, a disarming appearance can help black CEOs by counteracting the stigma that black men are threatening, according to the study from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. The study is scheduled to be published in the journal Psychological Science in September. A babyface is characterized by combinations of attributes, including a round face, full cheeks, larger forehead, small...

Black Newspapers Omitted from Stimulus Package, NNPA Publishers Push for InclusionBy Cash Michaels Special to the NNPA from the Wilmington Journal RALEIGH, N.C. On his 100th day in office, Barack Obama enjoys high job approval ratings, no matter what poll you consult. But if a new survey by the New York Times is accurate, the president and some of his policies are significantly less popular with white Americans than with black Americans, and his sky-high ratings among African-Americans make some of his positions appear a bit more popular overall than they actually are.

WALT Disney's first black princess is steeped in controversy, with the studio changing her name and job, but still facing claims of racial insensitivity. Following claims of racial insensitivity, the studio -- known for its wholesome and predominantly white family values -- has made several changes to its first African-American princess, Tiana. Voiced by Anika Noni Rose, Tiana is the star of a new animated film to be released this Christmas, titled The Princess and the Frog. Tiana's mother will be played by talk-show host Oprah Winfrey. Disney has changed the profession of the princess to an aspiring restaurant entrepreneur,...

My Tea Party Anthem was played and I was interviewed on a radio talk show in Alabama this morning. The host, Kevin Elkins is a black Libertarian. A few black callers said I was wrong about America not being racist. They sited incidents in which they suffered racial discrimination, one happened in 1989. There will always be some discrimination for various reasons...you're too fat, too thin or whatever. What frustrates me are people who find comfort in viewing themselves as victims. Thanks, Lloyd

The mainstream liberal media, ACORN activists and Obama Kool Aid drinkers have tried to trash the tea party movement. We've been called “racist tea bagging rednecks”. Critics say the tea parties are the result of marketing by the “vast right wing conspiracy”. Impossible. No marketing firm could inspire such passion in so many so quickly. Truth be known, this is an incredible grassroots movement driven by love and concern for our great country. Here are a few of these Great American Patriots: EDNA – Citrus County, Florida I've performed my “American Tea Party Anthem” at numerous big budget, thousands in...

WASHINGTON -- As a senator, Barack Obama led the charge last year to pass a bill allowing black farmers to seek new discrimination claims against the Agriculture Department. Now he is president, and his administration so far is acting like it wants the potentially budget-busting lawsuits to go away. The change isn't sitting well with black farmers who thought they'd get a friendlier reception from Obama after years of resistance from President George W. Bush.

April 19, 2009— For the first time in a quarter century, the number of African-Americans incarcerated for drug offenses in state prisons has declined more than 20 percent while the number of white imprisoned drug offenders has increased more than 40 percent. The decline took place over a six year period from 1999 to 2005 and reflects fundamental changes in the so-called "war on drugs" -- how it's targeted and prosecuted -- as well as the waning of the crack epidemic in predominantly minority urban areas and the increase in methamphetamine abuse in largely white rural neighborhoods. The trends were...

Ms Garafalo, HOW DARE YOU! Calling hard working, decent American taxpayers 'racist tea bagging rednecks' simply because they protest outrageous government spending is evil. Your irresponsible divisive accusation fuels the flames of racial hatred and could inspire violence against whites. BILL MOYERS: Bill Black was in New York this week for a conference at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice where scholars and journalists gathered to ask the question, "How do they get away with it?" Well, no one has asked that question more often than Bill Black. The former Director of the Institute for Fraud Prevention now teaches Economics and Law at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. During the savings and loan crisis, it was Black who accused then-house speaker Jim Wright and five US Senators, including John Glenn and John McCain, of doing favors for the...

To the list of lofty names that glamorize the city’s fried chicken stands, like Crown, Royal and Kennedy, one Brooklyn restaurant owner decided to add another: Obama. From the restaurant’s perspective, the name change grew out of pride in the new president and a keen sense of commerce. From other perspectives, it was tone-deaf at best, and racist at worst. When the restaurant, Royal Fried Chicken on Rutland Road in Brownsville, changed its name last week to Obama Fried Chicken, the reaction was swift. “Community leaders came. They told us we have to change the name,” said Mohammad Jabbar,...

The saying goes that when America catches a cold, the black community catches pneumonia. And when the economy goes into a recession, in minority neighborhoods it feels like a depression. Andrae Crayton can testify to that. The deepening economic crisis is taking its toll on him and other members of the emerging black middle class, which had seen its income and homeownership levels rise in recent decades. Educators, business owners, government employees and other professionals have lost their jobs, seen their hours cut back or felt squeezed by the credit crunch. Crayton sat solidly inside Central Florida's black middle class....

WASHINGTON -- For her own Women's History Month assignment, first lady Michelle Obama visited Anacostia High School, on the poor side of town, where on Thursday she surprised a group of students. One of her goals is to demystify the White House and make it more accessible to the people who live here. Mrs. Obama told the youngsters she felt isolated from an institution in her own community when she was growing up and that she suspected they may view the White House and the Capitol the way she saw the University of Chicago as a young girl -- a...

Queen Charlotte was the wife of George III and, like him, of German descent. But did she also have African ancestry? Queen Charlotte died nearly two centuries ago but is still celebrated in her namesake American city. When you drive from the airport in North Carolina, you can't miss the monumental bronze sculpture of the woman said to be Britain's first black queen, dramatically bent backwards as if blown by a jet engine. Downtown, there is another prominent sculpture of Queen Charlotte, in which she's walking with two dogs as if out for a stroll in 21st-century America. Street after...

Why is 'black racism' acceptable and even encouraged? This is pretty much uncharted territory for a black. Defending 'white people' is a sure way to win me the 'Uncle Tom of All Times' award. However, in a spirit of fairness and truth, I will forge forward boldly going where no black has gone before. A little “Star Trek” lingo. My black buddy calls any white who opposes Obama's agenda a 'cracker'. Thomas the Tank's supple and shiny black Labrador coat is his most stunning feature. It's also his greatest curse. The 5-year-old bundle of sweet canine joy unwittingly suffers from "black dog syndrome," a term describing how large, black dogs often linger the longest on the adoption block at animal shelters. While scientific evidence of this malady is scarce, the phenomenon is real and also applies to black cats, those working in shelters say. Thomas is one of six large, black dogs up for adoption at PAWS Chicago, the largest transfer agency out of the Chicago city pound. Paula Fasseas, chairman...

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Members of the Legislative Black Caucus left the State House in protest over the plan to require voters to show photo identification to prove who they are at polling precincts. The debate was under way Thursday on the House floor. The measure requires voters to show a valid driver's license, passport, military ID or state identification card. It removes the current $5 fee for the cards issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Rep. Alan Clemmons argues it's a voter integrity issue. The Myrtle Beach Republican says federal court rulings about similar laws in other states...

DEMOCRATS SOLD OUT AMERICA FOR 30 PIECES OF SILVER By Frances Rice In a moment that will live in infamy, President Barack Hussein Obama fostered upon America a gigantic Socialist Stimulus Bill that will plunge America deeply into the failed Euro-socialist psychosis. Obama conjured up images of the Great Depression to intimidate the US Congress into voting for his $787 billion pork-laden stimulus bill that was crafted in the dead of night by liberal Democrats and read by no member of Congress before they voted the next day. Now, economists are revealing that Obama's Depression analogy is historically false and...

The highest-ranking black congressman says opposition to the federal stimulus package by southern governors is "a slap in the face of African-Americans." Democratic Congressman Jim Clyburn of South Carolina said Thursday he was insulted when the GOP governors of several states said they might not accept some of the money from the $787 billion stimulus package. Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Wednesday he would accept the money. Clyburn said he was trying to protect black Americans when he added a provision to the stimulus package that would let state lawmakers override governors who oppose it. Clyburn's spokeswoman later said he...

A pastor at a Berkeley church was sentenced Thursday to three years' probation and fined $1,000 after becoming the first person convicted under an Oakland ordinance barring protesters from coming within 8 feet of anyone entering an abortion clinic. Walter Hoye could have faced up to two years in jail after a jury convicted him last month of two misdemeanor counts of unlawfully approaching patients at the Family Planning Specialists Medical Group at Second and Webster streets. The case was an emotional one, and pro-choice and anti-abortion advocates jammed the Oakland courtroom for the sentencing hearing. Dozens of people unable...

Morgan Freeman thinks "Black History Month" is rediculous

I write before Christmas, but our first African-American president should have been sworn in and the inaugural festivities completed by the time you read this. On a more somber note, an auxiliary bishop in Washington has drawn attention to something we don’t hear enough about: the terrible toll that abortion has taken on the black population. A recent report by the Guttmacher Institute shows that black women now have abortions at five times the rate of white women. Among the 1.2 million babies aborted in the U.S. each year--at least it’s down from 1.6 million in 1990--37 percent are black,...

About half of last year's 179 murders in New Orleans occurred in daylight, with spikes at the lunch and dinner hours, a fact that officials and experts say underscores the brazen nature of the slayings -- and may indicate that many are executions. Ninety people were murdered between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., with 19 of them killed between noon and 1 p.m. -- more than any other hour of the day -- and 16 killed between 5 and 6 p.m.District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro said the daylight killings speak to a pervasive lack of respect for the justice system. There are many ways we get stereotypes. We get them from our parents and the things they teach us. We get them from our peer groups and what they teach us. We get them from books, T.V., movies, etc. But the one place we get stereotypes that we seldom hear about is the very people or things we have stereotypes about. I bring this up because of a recent article I read about a movie that is playing in theaters right now. The reviewer said it was a great movie but it played to racial stereotypes. What stereotypes are being...
