  • Riot Cop Violently Blindsides Girl On Street

    03/31/2014 3:49:33 PM PDT · by TheProducer · 185 replies
A video uploaded by a Phoebe Landolt shows a riot cop assaulting a girl standing on the street. Police had been called in to quell a student riot in Arizona after the Wildcats lost their game to Wisconsin. The girl in the video did not appear to be rioting or causing a scene, but the officer can be clearly viewed charging her and knocking her over for apparently no reason.

FORT WORTH — What started as a murder case ended as a standoff at a two-story home on Permian Lane in Fort Worth on December 31, 2013. John St. Angelo, a contractor, had been here before, and chose it as a place to hide from Fort Worth police as they tried to track him down for the murder of his estranged wife, Suzanne Parsons. Police used tear gas and more to break into the home until St. Angelo finally gave up. All the owner of the house could do was watch. "We’re about 12 hours ahead, so I found out...

The Los Angeles Police Department has gone and got themselves a Lamborghini. With a starting price of $182,000, the 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo is the latest edition to the LAPD's fleet of vehicles, complete with traditional black and white paint and 'To Protect and to Serve' written on the sides, according to NBC Los Angeles. And in the land of high-speed pursuits, what better way to catch those bandits flying down the 101, right? Wrong.

The Cuomo administration has a serious, potentially deadly laser pointer shortage. That's the only way to explain a report from the Albany Times-Union that Jerome Hauer, the state's commissioner of Homeland Security & Emergency Services, used the the laser sight on his handgun as a pointer during a presentation in October, panicking a bunch of foreign delegates from countries where guns are only used for civilized things like shooting people.

Referring to his Democratic opponent Wendy Davis, Abbott said, “It will show how clueless she is.” In a tweet as well as a letter to the editor of the McAllen Monitor, Davis called on Abbott “to apologize for his offensive comments about South Texas." Police have called upon the military for help and are scratching their heads as to how and why a man in southern Sweden managed to amass an arsenal of hundreds of weapons, 557 of which he had a licence to own. . . . . . . . Fearing an explosion, officers cordoned off the house and called in a bomb squad and the military for help. Closer inspection showed that the homeowner had actually had licences for 557 of the weapons, but questions have been raised as to whether such an extensive collection is nevertheless in breach of Sweden's...

Joe Biden's niece, Caroline Biden, got into some trouble with the law last fall, getting herself arrested after taking a swing at a cop who responded to a call about a fight Biden got in with her roommate. But because no cops were injured, prosecutors agreed to let her avoid jail and to dismiss her case if she stays out of trouble. Biden wasn't in court (she's at an inpatient facility for "her issues"), but her two lawyers "presented a sworn affidavit indicating she would accept the offer."

Whistleblower cop Frank Serpico remembers the night he took a bullet to the face — even if the NYPD continues to ignore it. One day after the 43rd anniversary of his near-fatal shooting, Serpico, 77, said he has yet receive his long-delayed Medal of Honor certificate, which typically accompanies the medal. Serpico was given the NYPD’s highest award, the Medal of Honor, in 1972. But the medal wasn’t given at a ceremony; it was dispensed over a counter top, he recalled. In a statement, he said was tired of “waiting for the NYPD to overcome their pettiness and animosity.”
  • Roadside violation: Drivers, passengers say police searched inside underpants

FOREST PARK, Ga. — Officers are supposed to pull drivers over for traffic violations, but a Channel 2 Action News investigation found traffic stops leading to a violation of another kind. Driver after driver told investigative reporter Jodie Fleischer officers searched inside their pants while they were stopped for minor traffic violations. In several cases, the invasive searches targeted passengers who were riding in the car. "He was like, 'Just unbuckle all your clothes,' and put his hands down inside my pants," said Terry Phillips. Forest Park police had pulled over Phillips' wife for a suspended registration. Phillips consented to...

As if you needed another reason not to wear your dumb Google Glass in public—or ever, actually—an Ohio man claims he was yanked out of a movie theater and interrogated by federal agents, who believed he was illegally filming the movie with his face computer. The man’s full account is posted on The Gadgeteer, but we’ll summarize it here so you can get the gist of it before you’re engulfed forever in this ghastly winter storm. Last Saturday, our Glass-wearing protagonist and his wife went to a showing of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit at an AMC in Columbus, Ohio. About...

Cops bloodied an 84-year-old man and put him in the hospital Sunday when he jaywalked at an Upper West Side intersection and didn’t appear to understand their orders to stop, witnesses said. Kang Wong was strolling north on Broadway and crossing 96th Street at around 5 p.m., when an officer told him to halt because he had walked against the light. Police were targeting jaywalkers in the area following the third pedestrian fatality this month around West 96th Street. Wong, who lives a block away, appeared to not understand the cop, the witnesses said.

The end of 2013 brought a measure of closure to a long-running Milwaukee police scandal, though some say the officer — and his cohorts — who repeatedly and illegally shoved his fingers up black male suspects’ anal cavities got off with a light sentence considering the flagrant nature of his abuses. The ringleader was identified as officer Michael Vagnini, a white man who routinely targeted black males as young as fifteen for sadistic — and blatantly illegal — anal searches. One victim said that another officer put a gun to his head while Vagnini administered a choke hold, touched his...

LOS ANGELES — In a city of seemingly endless highways — with its daily parade of car accidents, frustrating traffic jams and aggressive drivers — the Los Angeles Police Department these days is training its sights on a different road menace: jaywalkers. It is not quite “Dragnet,” but the Police Department in recent weeks has issued dozens of tickets to workers, shoppers and tourists for illegally crossing the street in downtown Los Angeles. And the crackdown is raising questions about whether the authorities are taking sides with the long-dominant automobile here at the very time when a pedestrian culture is...

Sixteen of the defendants were arrested Monday and are expected to be arraigned this afternoon in federal court.

A state trooper accused of triggering a three-car crash on Route 1 in Revere that smashed up a cruiser and put an on-duty trooper in the hospital has been suspended indefinitely without pay today, state police announced. Trooper Shawn D’Amato, 43, who authorities said told EMTs he had smoked crack within an hour of yesterday's crash, was arraigned in his Massachusetts General Hospital bed yesterday on charges of drunken and drugged driving, negligent operation; and failure to change lanes for an emergency vehicle. EMTs also observed "apparent track marks on (D'Amato's) arms, suggesting intravenous drug use," Jake Wark, spokesman for...

When New Mexico police stopped a local driver for committing a minor moving violation, they decided to check whether he was carrying drugs in his anus. So they procured a warrant, drove him to two different hospitals, forced him to endure eight medical procedures — including an invasive colonoscopy — and stuck him with the bill. No drugs were found. According to medical records, police reports and a federal lawsuit obtained by KOB-TV, police held Eckert until they were able to procure a warrant from a judge to search the man’s anal cavity. They then drove him to a nearby...
