DEVELOPING: A shooter is on the loose after at least seven people, some of them children, were killed at three different crime scenes in southern Ohio Friday, local news agencies report.

On April 20, the Oklahoma Senate voted 37-9 to pass legislation recognizing that the Second Amendment is a sufficient open carry permit. The legislation, HB 3098, had already passed in the House by a vote of 73-15. According to News 9, the Senate passed the bill via “a procedural move that forces the bill into conference committee” for one final look before it heads to Governor Mary Fallin (R). The gun-control proposals that Mayor Mitch Landrieu will publicly announce on Friday (April 22) include restrictions on who can carry guns, as well as the places and manner in which guns can be carried. The measures would also outlaw guns without serial numbers and require gun-theft victims to notify police within 48 hours, according to a draft ordinance.

Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona signed HB 224, which protects the right to transfer firearms in private transactions, without fee, tax or encumbrance, into law on 30 March, 2016.  The law went into effect on 31 March. Just want some input on the S&W 38 Body Guard I purchased. It has a real stiff trigger pull- makes me always pull up to the right... and wondering what to do. i bought it last year .... do i need to send it off to get the trigger set right? forgive my ignorance, i used to own a lot of firearms before the tragic boating accident of 1999, but i have never had a trigger calibrated before..... is it supposed be be so and stiff? thanks for any help...... i'm just a helpless chick.. lol

The Oklahoma Senate on Wednesday passed a bill that would allow people to openly carry firearms without a permit and without training. A total of 34 organizations — including the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Oklahoma State Troopers Association, universities, chambers of commerce and hospitals — sent a letter to Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman in opposition to House Bill 3098 and House Joint Resolution 1009, a proposed ballot measure intended to make it harder to regulate guns. A high school in Smithfield, NC now offers another lane of study for some students: Members of the Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program are able to study their aim on campus. The JROTC built a 1,200-square-foot, six-lane, indoor shooting range at the Smithfield-Selma High School and students began using the facility last week. The $10,000 in costs for the range was donated by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
