  • An Open Rant Aimed at Those Who Would Repeal the Second Amendment

We should be absolutely clear about what Delaney is arguing here: He is a) agreeing with Jefferson that “laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind,” b) contending that “progress” suggests that the individual right to keep and bear arms is now counterproductive, and c) concluding that it is time therefore to make a “change in law and constitution” — in other words, to repeal the Second Amendment. This, it is true, is not a mainstream position on the American Left — at least, it is not one that is argued openly. But...

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) declared, “shame on the left” for “exploiting misery and tragedy for a — to pursue a political agenda” on Thursday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel. Clarke said, “Well, shame on the left, shame on the Democrats for once again exploiting misery and tragedy for a — to pursue a political agenda. Shame on the president of the United States to invoke terrorism into this horrific incident that happened in Virginia.”

This week the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that people here in the US illegally are subject to 2nd Amendment Rights. For legal citizens, some states will not allow the sale of a firearm to someone who does not LEGALLY reside in that state thus impinging on a LEGAL CITIZEN's 2nd amendment rights. How is it that the 7th found that an illegal alien, regardless of which state they reside in can purchase a firearm when a legal citizen has to first LEGALLY RESIDE in the state?

The most disturbing aspect of the scandal around Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server during her tenure as secretary of state is not the former first lady’s penchant for secrecy. What’s truly unsettling is that it has been widely taken as read among both the media and the general public that Mrs. Clinton will likely avoid serious legal consequences for her behavior because the Justice Department is ultimately answerable to President Obama – and Democrats will not use the instruments of government to destroy one of their own. Whether that eventually proves true, the sentiment itself reveals a...

CNN anchors on Wednesday night hit two Republican presidential candidates on the subject of gun control, wondering if yesterday's horrific shooting in Roanoke, Virginia has prompted them to rethink their positions. Talking to Ben Carson, Don Lemon demanded, "After you watch a crime like this, does it make you question at all the role of guns in our society?" Carson reminded, "The Second Amendment of that Constitution gives citizens the right to keep and bare arms. Therefore, anything that we're going to do has to be done with respect to the Second Amendment." The Republican mentioned the opportunity to do...

Since Wednesday's horrific double murder of journalists Alison Parker and Adam Ward in Roanoke, Virginia, anti-gun activists have pounced at the opportunity to call for more gun control and exploited the tragedy within hours of its occurrence. Keep in mind the following statements were made before the facts were in about how the killer obtained his firearm.

On May 4th 2015, Richard Chambliss was arrested by the Bald Knob Police Department (BKPD) for carrying a weapon, despite Arkansas Act 746, which allows the carrying of a weapon. After realizing the open carry charge would likely not hold, a madeup charge of disorderly conduct was added. The BKPD Chief of Police, Judge, & prosecuting attorney appear to oppose Act 746 & the 2nd amendment in general. The previous police chief was fired by Mayor Mary Beth Calhoun in January 2015, possibly due to politics, & replaced him with current Police Chief Erek Balantine. Balantine had been charged with...
  • Editorial: Concealed gun law allowing questionable people to carry

Two years after Illinois’ concealed-carry law went into effect, it’s time we took a hard look at whether people who are a danger to themselves or others are getting permits to carry hidden weapons. Under the law, even people who been arrested for violence are eligible to carry concealed weapons. The law leaves it up to local police to object if someone who shouldn’t be packing heat applies for a permit. But that extra safeguard apparently is not protecting us the way it should, at least in Cook County, whose residents account for about a quarter of the state’s concealed-carry...

When a gunman opened fire Wednesday on two Virginia journalists and the woman they were interviewing on live TV, he was influenced by a long history of public mass killings throughout the country. Shooter Vester Lee Flanagan II said he admired mass shooters like those at Columbine High School in 1999 and Virginia Tech in 2007, and that he put down a deposit for a gun two days after the Charleston, South Carolina, church shooting in June. When it comes to gun massacres, the United States is tragically exceptional: There are more public mass shootings in the United States than...

At 27, Adele Langkil, mother of a 4-year-old son in Virginia, got her first extended break from her jobs as a single parent and waitress when her parents took the boy for a weekend. She spent a few days in New York. Refreshed, returning home to Virginia Beach, she checked her bag at La Guardia Airport. It was 1985 and airline screening was not as rigorous as it is today, but the authorities noted that there was a handgun in the luggage. “I was working as a waitress at night,” Ms. Langkil recalled Thursday. “A couple of people followed the...

I was on the security detail at The Vertical Church on Sunday.  I noticed that Jeremy was open carrying, so I asked him if I could take a picture after the service.  He was kind enough to wait with his lovely wife until I handed off to the next volunteer.  Then we stepped outside to take the picture.  The lobby was fairly crowded.  We are having record numbers attend for August in Yuma! The can in his left hand is non-alcoholic, they are sold in the Church lobby.  The pistol is a Sig Sauer P220 in .45 ACP.  Carrying...

Secretary of State John Kerry Secretary of State John Kerry once again signed the United Nations Arms Treaty on Wednesday, a move that supporters say will help stop weapons from getting into the hands of criminals and terrorists worldwide but critics contend is is a backdoor assault on law-abiding gun owners. The treaty would require nations to conduct a detailed registration of all guns. The issue is dead on arrival in the U.S. Senate, but one of the leading experts on guns says even if the agreement is only ratified in other countries, it can still work to erode...

The burglary was reported at 9:58 a.m. near a shopping plaza at the intersection of Fruitvale Avenue and East Ninth Street, a few blocks from the Fruitvale BART station, police said. Oakland police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson said the firearm belonged to a law enforcement agency that was not Oakland police, but she did not know which agency. The theft comes days after University of California, Berkeley's police Chief Margo Bennett had her gun, badge, department-issued laptop and other items stolen as...

(CNN)One day after reporter Alison Parker, 24, and her cameraman, Adam Ward, 27, were gunned down on live television in Roanoke, Virginia, Parker's boyfriend said merely remembering their lives is not enough. "There needs to be some action that is taken out of an event like this -- out of an event like Sandy Hook, like Charleston, like Aurora, Colorado... where these things just don't occur anymore," Chris Hurst told CNN on Thursday, citing a litany of American gun violence. "We need to have a substantive conversation on what is going on in America that is allowing evil to continue...

During the incident, the organization advised students to "please get to a safe location and do not move." The suspect has not been identified and the motive is not known. No one was injured in the incident, as the suspect apparently did not fire any shots. The suspect was first seen at Carpenter Hall, which houses the school's mechanical engineering department. Not just one, but three Second Amendment groups have filed suit against the city of Seattle for adopting a “gun violence tax” on ammunition and firearms, “designed to help offset the financial toll of gun violence”: The complaint was filed Monday in King County Superior Court by the NRA, the Bellevue-based Second Amendment Foundation and the National Shooting Sports Foundation, along with two gun owners and two gun shops. It called the tax legally unenforceable because Washington state prohibits local governments from adopting laws related to firearms unless those local ordinances are specifically authorized by the state. More likely...

In a case regarding a specific gun control law which bans “unauthorized aliens” (illegal immigrants) from possessing firearms in the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit did the work of a contortionist by upholding the law while also pointing out that they “see no principled way to carve out the Second Amendment and say that the unauthorized (or maybe all noncitizens) are excluded.” In a word—illegal immigrants have Second Amendment rights too. The case was titled United States v. Meza-Rodriguez, and the decision was handed down on August 20.

Williams murdered two people while they were live on air on WDBJ in Virginia: reporter Alison Parker, and cameraman Adam Ward. After the murders, he went on the run – and while he was on the run, he tweeted out his rationale for the killings, accusing Parker of making “racist comments” and Ward of going “to hr on me after working with me one time!!!” He then posted video to his Facebook and Twitter pages of himself shooting both at point-blank range.

America is still reeling from the on-air execution of Alison Parker and Adam Ward. While doing their jobs, both were slain by a devout racist and former colleague of their. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at PolitiStick go out to the families of these victims. It’s a senseless crime and it’s natural to try and make sense of such heinousness. The shooter, a homosexual black man, authored a 23-page manifesto clearly explaining his racial motivations for killing the two straight white people. And though America became engulfed in a rage of race-obsessed hysteria after the Dylann roof shooting, few...
