A Cleveland police officer responding to a call about a person with a gun fatally wounded a 12-year-old boy brandishing what turned out to be an air gun that looked very much like a real firearm, police said early Sunday. The shooting Saturday afternoon came as the nation nervously awaited a grand jury decision on whether to charge the police officer who killed African-American teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, in August. The attorney for the family of the Cleveland youngster, who also was black, downplayed any possible racial connotations to the shooting. "This is not a black and white...

Obama’s Lawless Amnesty Tests Our Republic Judicial Watch Victory: Obama Gives Up Fast and Furious Documents President GruberObama Jet-Setting Costs Taxpayers Obama’s Lawless Amnesty Tests Our Republic I write this late Friday after an extraordinarily busy week at Judicial Watch (see below). Honest Americans are still gasping from President Obama’s speech last night announcing his own amnesty program, based on no legal authority, for at least five million illegal aliens. How long it would have taken from the time of its exposure for the press to have prominently reported on an email sent from the the Bush 43 White House to its Justice Department asking, "Any way we can fix the New York Times?" We can be confident that it would have taken less than a New York minute, and that saturation coverage would have continued for days. Well, one revelation in a series of Saturday tweets by former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson, one of only a very few establishment press journalists who did serious reporting on the Department of...

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission voted yesterday to remove an antiquated regulation that prevented hunters from protecting their hearing. The regulation banned the use of gun mufflers for the taking of game. From the nraila: Following the suppressor vote, the Commission also voted to authorize an Executive Order to lift the ban immediately and allow hunting with suppressors to begin at once. Following that vote, Executive Order # EO 14-32 was signed. Using suppressor-equipped rifles, pistols and shotguns is now legal for all hunting in Florida. Map from American Suppressor Association. Using gun mufflers, sometimes referred to as...

How many shootings will it take before we adopt common sense gun control? A former Navy weapons instructor lays out the simple steps lawmakers can take to make us all safer. Last week, there was yet another campus shooting. This time, it was at Florida State University. The exhaustingly predictable cycle of mass shooting, recycled talking points from all sides, proposed legislation, insider lobbying, stagnation, and loss of public interest is about to begin and has been repeated far too many times in recent memory. Face it: the gun rights debate in this country is stale. In May, I talked...

Mac, Coyote Fighter The first coyote was recorded in New Hampshire in 1972. By 1980, they were found across the state. Eastern coyotes have wolf genes, and are larger than the western variety, reaching as much as 60 lbs. The first coyote attack on a human in New Hampshire occurred in 2012. Ironically, the boy's dog ran off, leaving him to fight the coyote. From inquisiter.com: The boy’s dog ran away when the coyote approached which left the boy to fend off the coyote’s attack on his own. After repeatedly punching the coyote in the nose, the coyote eventually...

In the ongoing legal battle by Alan Gura to force the District of Columbia City Council to respect the second amendment of the Constitution, a request that the City government be held in contempt was file on Tuesday, the 18th of November, 2014. It seems to come as a response to the city claiming that the Court lacked jurisdiction, because no request for a finding of contempt was fired. Judge Frederick J. Scullin, Jr gave the DC government until the 4th of December, and Gura's reply by the 11th of December. From us.archive.org: TEXT SCHEDULING ORDER: regarding the #...

"AUSTIN, Texas -- Speaker of the Texas House Joe Straus (R-San Antonio) is now virtually guaranteed to be victorious in his re-election for Speaker, as thirty five more Republican State Representatives announced this week that they would endorse him. Straus has faced ongoing criticism that he has failed to advance a conservative legislative agenda that reflects the will of the Texas people on a number of key issues, most notably the issue of protecting the unborn. This week's surge of endorsements has fanned the flames of discontent among pro-life advocates that the Texas House under Straus' leadership will once again...

Alyssa Caldwell and her father, Joshua, were heading to what they hoped would be a great spot for Alyssa to take a nice bull elk on the edge of a meadow in New Mexico's Unit 52, just south of the Colorado border. After hunting a makeshift aspen blind over a waterhole, dad and daughter decided to stalk to a meadow and see if any elk had come to feed lower on the mountain. However, after about 200 yards, Joshua realized he had forgotten the shooting sticks in the blind. "I decided to head back up to grab them and told...
