While recording a video for her customers, a webcam model has accidentally shot herself in the vagina. According to reports the incident occurred inside her home earlier this month. Police were called to an “accidental gunshot wound” at a residence in Thomaston, Georgia, USA, shortly before noon on November 9. A sheriff’s deputy arrived to the scene to find a paramedic holding an unloaded handgun and a spent bullet casing, who told police: “The female had shot herself in her vagina, accidentally.” It is believed the model is named Lauren Hunter Daman, 27. She was reportedly alone inside her bedroom...

A Chinese man who was dating 17 women at once has been found out after his girlfriends turned up to visit him in hospital following a car crash. The man, surnamed Yuan, from the city of Changsha in Hunan province, had been dating all the women at the same time, and even had a child with one, state media reports. His luck ran out when hospital staff began contacting his loved ones in the wake of his accident.

Bay Area news station KTVU just reported that the pilots of Asiana's disastrous flight 214 were the crack team of "Sum Ting Wong," "Wi Tu Lo," "Ho Lee Fuk," and "Bang Ding Ow." Despite the names obviously being just a bunch of racist jokes, KTVU, which has since apologized for the report, claims in a statement given to Gawker—and read on the air—that an NTSB official confirmed the names to them earlier today. EARLIER IN THE NEWSCAST WE GAVE SOME NAMES OF PILOTS INVOLVED IN THE ASIANA AIRLINES CRASH. THESE NAMES WERE NOT ACCURATE DESPITE AN N-T-S-B OFFICIAL IN WASHINGTON...

This would be the intern who confirmed to local news station KTVU that the Asiana Airlines pilots who crash-landed that plane in San Francisco were named Sum Ting Wong, Ho Lee xxx, and so on. It's still unclear why the intern did this, or why KTVU asked the intern to do this. Everyone is terrible.

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Oh, yeah. If you go to Twitter, if you go to Facebook -- hell, if you go to comments, anywhere -- "It's so racist! It's just offensive as it can be. I can't believe people actually thought these were real." I can just see these little people in their pajamas writing these comments on Twitter over what happened on KTVU Channel 2 (I think it's Channel 2) in Oakland, in the Bay Area. It's a Fox affiliate, and that probably ticked 'em off even more. You had this clueless infobabe. I mean, folks, I hope you've had...
  • KTVU erroneously reports Asiana Flight 214 pilot names

    07/14/2013 7:11:15 PM PDT · by navysealdad · 18 replies
Co-anchor Tori Campbell told viewers during the noon newscast Friday,"KTVU has just learned the names of the four pilots who were on board" the flight that crashed at San Francisco International Airport a week ago. She proceeded to read from a teleprompter the names that may have originated as a racially insensitive joke online — "Sum Ting Wong," "Wi Tu Lo," "Ho Lee Fuk," and "Bang Ding Ow"— while a TV graphic displayed the names next to a photo of the charred cabin.

You’ve probably heard about the airline crash reporting fiasco. Last Friday during a live midday newscast, KTVU TV in San Francisco reported as fact that the names of the pilots on board the Asiana airlines flight that recently crashed in that city were “Sum Ting Wong,” “Wi Tu Lo,” Ho Lee Fuk,” and “Bang Ding Ow.” Shortly thereafter it was determined that the information, which the television station allegedly acquired from the National Transportation Safety Board (“NTSB”), was not factual, but instead a racially insensitive joke. Within less than thirty-six hours after the incident not only had KTVU’s management apologized...

The National Transportation Safety Board apologized Friday after an intern mistakenly confirmed to a local television station racially offensive fake names for the pilots of an Asiana flight that crashed in San Francisco. “The National Transportation Safety Board apologizes for inaccurate and offensive names that were mistakenly confirmed as those of the pilots of Asiana flight 214, which crashed at San Francisco International Airport on July 6,” the NTSB said in a statement. “Earlier today, in response to an inquiry from a media outlet, a summer intern acted outside the scope of his authority when he erroneously confirmed the names...

When I first saw the KTVU video in which anchorwoman Tori Campbell gave the fictional names of the Asiana Airlines pilots -- Captain Sum Ting Wong, Wi Tu Lo, Ho Lee Fuk and Bang Ding Ow -- I laughed. I laughed out loud, and then I watched it again. After days of watching the painful news about the July 6 crash that killed three and left many wounded, it felt good to laugh. I didn't think that the gaffe had racist intent. I figured it was just a puerile newsroom prank that somehow made it on the air. I never...

The National Transportation Safety Board has released a statement revealing the source of Friday afternoon's embarassing KTVU hoax -a summer intern for the agency who "acted outside the scope if his authority" and "erroneously confirmed the names of the flight crew" on the Asiana plane that crashed in San Francisco. The Bay Area TV station read the racist crew names on air: Captain Sum Ting Wong, We Tu Low, Ho Lee Fuk, and Bang Ding Ow.
