A woman has been arrested on suspicion of wilful neglect after a newborn baby was found in a toilet at a Sports Direct warehouse. The baby boy was discovered on New Years' Day and was rushed to hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition. The boy's mother, who is believed to be from Eastern Europe and in her 20s, was also treated in hospital. Paramedics who attended the call at the retailer's UK distribution centre, in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, have passed the incident to police. It is not known who found the baby, who is now being cared...

It can be an unsettling thing, introducing a pet to a newborn baby. Though it’s extremely rare, there have been horror stories of dogs attacking unfamiliar newborns. In a Sunday post, Reddit user banpeiSF said he was a little worried about his Corgi, Wilbur, meeting the family’s newborn baby. However, his concerns turned out to be completely unwarranted. In fact, the two have seemingly become inseparable. Take a look (captions via Reddit):

Nearly 1 percent of young women in a U.S. study who have become pregnant claim to have done so as virgins, according to a report in the Christmas edition of Britain's BMJ medical journal. The authors of "Like a virgin (mother)" - whose prose is devoid of irony - say such scientifically impossible claims show researchers must use care in interpreting self-reported behavior. Fallible memory, beliefs and wishes can cause people to err in what they tell scientists. Based on interviews with 7,870 women and girls ages 15 to 28, 45 of the 5,340 pregnancies in this group through the...

A pregnant woman has had her baby forcibly removed by caesarean section by social workers. Essex social services obtained a High Court order against the woman that allowed her to be forcibly sedated and her child to be taken from her womb. The council said it was acting in the best interests of the woman, an Italian who was in Britain on a work trip, because she had suffered a mental breakdown. The baby girl, now 15 months old, is still in the care of social services, who are refusing to give her back to the mother, even though she...

The beast was so well-preserved that some of its skin left impressions in the nearby rock.

A facebook group dedicated to criticizing 'ugly' babies proves that bullying is not just an act of teenagers. The private facebook group, which has since been removed, is composed of grown women around the country who grab photos of toddlers from other mothers' facebook pages without approval and post them online for criticizing. The group was originally designed to trade and sell children's clothing but took a nasty turn. One mother, Melissa Anetucci, of Palm Beach, Fla. has made it her mission to fight against the self-proclaimed 'mean girls group' and to expose their wildly inappropriate behavior. She began posting...

Authorities said the body was found wrapped in a blanket Thursday morning at the plant in Victorville, about 85 miles north of Los Angeles. Homicide detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department were investigating. The infant's age was not immediately known, but authorities said she appeared to be a newborn. Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said Friday that there were few leads in the case. "No one has come forward...

Last week, WCSC-TV reported that after Benjamin and Hope Jordan relocated to Charleston, S.C., they needed to find a baby sitter for their 7-month-old son, Finn, but what they found was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Benjamin and Hope wanted a loving, nurturing baby sitter, just like any other concerned parents who work during the day but have no family or friends to watch their child. They had done their homework and thought they had discovered her in 21-year-old Alexis Khan. She passed a background check and had credible work experience as a baby sitter, and both of Finn's parents...

An 18-year-old Georgia man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for fatally shooting a baby riding in a stroller during a robbery attempt at a seaside town, a judge ruled Thursday. De’Marquise Elkins, 18, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, The Associated Press reported. Elkins was 17 at the time of the killing and thus too young to face the death penalty under Georgia law. A jury last month found Elkins guilty of two counts of felony murder and a count of murder in the March 21 shooting of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago...

Police say the 15-year-old Lang was an accomplice, and he is also charged with murder and will be tried at a later date.
