Mobile, Ala. (WEAR-TV) — The Walmart Mobile Import Distribution Center is hosting its second job fair this weekend. The Walmart leadership said they are looking to fill more than 250 positions including order fillers, loaders, unloaders and power equipment operators. Hyundai Motor said on May 30 it will invest 419 billion won (US$388 million) to construct an engine head production facility at its existing Alabama plant. Engine heads to be produced at the Alabama plant will be used in new models of the Sonata and Elantra sedans. The head machining plant is scheduled for completion in November, Korea’s biggest carmaker said in a statement. Alabama has reportedly filed a lawsuit challenging the federal government’s practice of counting undocumented immigrants in its official Census Bureau population counts. The state filed a lawsuit in federal court Monday arguing that the new census numbers for 2020 will result in Alabama losing a congressional seat and a vote in the Electoral College to a state with a bigger “illegal alien population,” according to the Associated Press.The state of Alabama and Rep. Washington - The Democratic National Committee is eyeing eight American cities for its 2020 Democratic National Convention, a party official tells CNN. The DNC sent requests for proposals to a host of cities and received responses from eight: Atlanta; Birmingham, Alabama; Denver; Houston; Miami Beach; Milwaukee; New York; and San Francisco. An Alabama teacher says school officials told her Monday to remove a shirt with the words “just pray” on it because the shirt violated the school dress code.
