Music icon Neil Young finally acknowledged his marriage to actress Daryl Hannah — and then begged Americans to rock the vote next week. The "Harvest Moon" crooner reportedly tied the knot with the 57-year-old "Splash" actress back in August but hadn't commented on the union until casually mentioning it this week on his website. He referenced "my wife Daryl and I" in a plea to Americans to get out to the polls on Tuesday.

As the Alabama Supreme Court upheld the state’s fetal homicide law in a ruling this month, one of the justices said the decision should force the U.S. Supreme Court to revisit its 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling. Justice Tom Parker said it is a “logical fallacy” for the government to consider a fetus a life for the purposes of a murder conviction but not when it comes to a woman deciding to end her pregnancy. Even lawyers within the pro-life community were conflicted on whether that is the kind of challenge the high court would — or even should —...

FULL TITLE: "New attacks on Mueller, coupled with rumors about Sessions and Rosenstein, highlight need for congressional protection" New speculation that Attorney General Jeff Sessions will leave Donald Trump's administration after the midterm elections raises the stakes about the fate of the Russia investigation. This week, The AP reported that Sessions’ allies are hoping that the White House permits a graceful exit from the Department of Justice, indicating that they believe that his departure is inevitable. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s days also may be numbered. Congress cannot leave something as important as the special counsel’s investigation unprotected. Given Trump’s...

An Alabama woman’s $3 finishing touch to her zombie Halloween costume landed her a terrifying trip to the dentist after her fake vampire fangs wouldn’t detach from her actual chompers. Anna Tew, of Mobile County, claims she used the temporary glue that came with the store-purchased fake teeth. She said her efforts to remove the teeth, which had grown uncomfortably tight in her mouth, went on until around 2 a.m. “I even took a pair of wire clippers and cut the tips of those two off,” she told WKRG.Her growing pain led her to search for an emergency dentist who...

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) is urging Congress to build President Trump’s proposed border wall, saying that a 7,000-strong migrant caravan is “hell-bent” on “assaulting our national sovereignty.” Brooks has cosponsored House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act of 2018 — which fully funds a border wall on the U.S.-Mexico border — and Rep. Bradley Byrne’s (R-AL) 50 Votes for the Wall Act, which Brooks says “neuters open borders Democrat Senator obstructionism by allowing a majority vote to pass legislation.” The populist-nationalist lawmaker says a border wall along the southern border is “now more than ever”...

Senator Doug Jones drew comparisons on Wednesday between the 1963 church bombing that killed four black girls in Birmingham to the pipe bomb threats that targeted several prominent Democrats this week. “I can tell you that there was a bomb that exploded in Birmingham in 1963 that killed four girls because (former public safety commissioner) Bull Connor and (former Governor) George Wallace said things that empowered them,” said Jones, who as a federal attorney, prosecuted two of the four KKK members responsible for the bombing in the early 2000s. “None of those folks meant to do something like that,” Jones...

Voters in Alabama, West Virginia and Oregon will cast their ballots in November against or in support of bills amending their state’s abortion laws. Alabama’s proposed constitutional amendment, “Statewide Amendment 2,” will ask voters to affirm that “the constitution of this state does not protect the right to abortion or require the funding of abortion.” It would also “recognize and support the sanctity of unborn life and the rights of unborn children.” “The real aim is to ban abortion, but that’s not what you see in the language. This is just very broad. We have seen some split among conservatives...
