I attended the protest in Washington DC. I took a bus trip with the Morristown Tea Party group which I thought was rather appropriate. In case you don’t know, General Washington and the Continental Army camped in Morristown, NJ in 1777 after marching from victories in Trenton and Princeton. They again camped the winter of 1780, which was by far the worst winter of the Revolutionary War. Not only did the soldiers suffer from extreme weather, exposure and starvation, they often went unpaid. And when they were paid, the skyrocketing inflation rate – reaching 47% in 1779 – made it...

A Citizen goes to Washington for the 1st time. 9/12 National Tea Party President Lincoln would be pleased to discover that work on the Capitol (and on the Great Compromise) continues; and thus the people are still hopefull... I just spend this lovely Sunday organizing and editing close to 500 photos from yesterday's historic march in DC. I am still inspired by the sheer joy expressed by the million marchers in DC.Can we say this is the Woodstock for conservatives? Absolutely. I'd even say if MLK were alive, he would be out marching to the Capitol with the people and give a rocking speech. Several impressions I took home from the Rally: A million plus attendees is my estimate of the crowd size. Compare the official crowd estimator from the 2009 Inauguration (fig. 1) to the screen...

A leaked memo sent by an oil industry group reveals a plan to create astroturf rallies at which industry employees posing as "citizens" will urge Congress to oppose climate change legislation. The memo -- sent by the American Petroleum Institute and obtained by Greenpeace, which sent it to reporters -- urges oil companies to recruit their employees for events that will "put a human face on the impacts of unsound energy policy," and will urge senators to "avoid the mistakes embodied in the House climate bill."

This event had been promoted as a taxpayer “tea party” but the crowd’s concerns were wide ranging, from outrage at ACORN and Obama’s socialist cadre known as Czars, to Obama’s untruthfulness. Protesters also displayed signs mocking Nancy Pelosi and others for smearing the grassroots movement as “astroturfers” and as an “angry mob”.I think this gathering should be appreciated as the extremely important historical event that it is. This is the first great conservative anti-statist manifestation in American history. The conservative movement, which developed in the post-WWII, Cold War environment has now fully matured into the most significant political movement of...

I am so glad I get to say, “I was there!”This was the most incredible event I have ever participated in! Walking down Pennsylvania Ave. with all those people! We were singing, there was praying, the pledge of allegiance was said, there was a moment when the entire avenue erupted in a giant shout! It was like a wave that started from the back and slowly moved up the avenue. It was incredible. You could hear this giant shout from behind you moving closer and closer like a wave,, louder and louder and then it just swept over us and...

Because of the weather the day before, my husband and I waited until the last minute to decide whether or not to go to the DC Taxpayer Tea Party. On Saturday morning, it was overcast and cool so we decided to drive into Silver Springs and take the metro. We found ourselves in the same car with people carrying furled flags. They had driven in from Michigan. We all did introductions and began a conversation that lasted all the way into DC. They were enthused, pleasant, witty yet serious people who did not like the direction the country was taking...

Just wanted to give an after report from the San Jose Tea Party. It started today around 1pm on the corner of Winchester and Steven's Creek. I'd say there were several hundred protestors. Lots of cars were going by and honking in our support. As usual, it was full of nice peaceful all-Americans. I heard that some of the protestors were going to a Town Hall meeting that Mike Honda was having. I didn't know about it, so I couldn't go. I didn't have a camera so I can't post any pictures. It's always very encouraging to see so many...

The so-called “silent majority” broke the still morning air of Pennsylvania Avenue on the morning of September 12th, 2009. Approximately one million Americans congregated in our nation’s Capitol to make their frustrations known. Grassroots efforts in opposition to the continued growth of government have recently been ignored or labeled as hordes of ignorant radicals. People who have come to voice their concerns at town hall meetings have been disparaged by the leftist media (”tea baggers”) and degenerately denigrated as foolish due to their fervid efforts to raise logical and Constitutional concerns while desiring to engage in dialogue with their elected...

If you missed being there, this photo essay is the next best thing. This event had been promoted as a taxpayer “tea party” but the crowd’s concerns wide ranging, from outrage at ACORN and Obama’s socialist cadre known as Czars, to Obama’s untruthfulness. Protesters also displayed signs mocking Nancy Pelosi and others for smearing the grassroots movement as “astroturfers” and as an angry mob. ABC News reports that two million Americans flooded D.C. in what people in the crowd were calling "a conservative Woodstock" Like the liberal Woodstock of the '60s, thousands were rumored stranded on freeways. Some walked in...

Even though the DC protest was much, much, bigger every little bit still helps. I did not see any SRM coverage so all the more reason to cover the one that happened in Phoenix today! Lots of flags and love of country on display . It happened in front of the State Senate. If they continue to ignore us using the first they will eventually see us use the 2nd amendment.

Just got back from a great 9/12 TEA Party. Thanks to OlympiaTeaParty.Com and Ken Morse for organizing this at our state's capital. My estimate is 1500 attended. The only news media apparent was KIRO TV seattle who was there for 20 min,.Most of the speakers talked of health care.A huge cheer went up when one of the speakers was interrupted for an announcement of the Wash DC tea party attendace. The attendees were all having fun and enjoying the gorgeous late summer day.

I can’t make it to Washington DC today for the national 9/12 march, but I’m with all the marchers in spirit. It’s been an unprecedented year for limited government activism. It would never have been possible without the early initiative of grass-roots leaders in the #tcot community on Twitter, Smart Girl Politics #DontGo — and concerned moms like Keli Carender and Amanda Grosserode who stood up in their communities against reckless spending in Washington before anyone was listening. Before the cable news was paying attention. Before it became fashionable for politicians to latch on.

Here is an awesome video showing the progressive gathering of the massive crowd at the 9/12 "Taxpayers March on Washington" today. You can see the U.S. Capitol in the distance, where the massive crowd marched to from Freedom Plaza. The video shows the crowd gradually growing and marching down the street to the Capitol. It is clearly a crowd in the hundreds of thousands if not millions. So far, estimates have ranged from "tens of thousands" to "1.5 - 2 million." . . . (VIDEO)

Thank you sooooo much to the fantastic people of New Jersey!! We just completed our last Tea Party Express rally before we hit Washington, D.C. and we were blown away. We arrived 1 1/2 hours late (due to atrocious traffic on the roads from Bridgeport, CT) and again faced a cold, windy, rain-soaked environment. But much to our excitement and dismay — we were greeted by a tremendous crowd of thousands of enthusiastic patriots. When we finally pulled up to the rally at the Town Hall square in Toms River, NJ the police were on hand to escort our big...

Mad as hell and ain't going to take it anymore: people from across the country descended upon Washington D.C. today for a long weekend of Dick Armey-organized activism. Here's, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK), who hopes the country can avoid destruction under Obama, kicking off the Liberty Summit. See the agenda for the next few days of Tea Party madness.Tea Party folk assemble in the DC Armory to listen to the likes of Sen. Inhofe, Dick Armey, and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC). On September 10, 2009, doctors, nurses and other medical professionals came to Washington, D.C. from across the country to show their opposition to Obamacare. This rally exploded the government-created myth that there is unanimity amongst health care professionals for Democrat plans to take over health care. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons came to D.C. to present a petition from doctors to lawmakers. The AAPS has been a voice for private physicians since 1943. Their motto is omnia pro aegroto, “all for the patient”. The doctors met with the representatives from their respective states and argued for a platform...

My sister just reported back to me from the doctors' rally in DC this evening. She went with her husband and 3 teenaged daughters. Here is what she reported: It was a great, well-behaved crowd of about 1000 -- mostly doctors and some nurses. They came from across the country and all sorts of practices. She said the speakers were just folks ... that they did not appear to be professional speakers. They were just doctors, speaking from the heart. They told of personal experiences of government interference in individual care and practices and the consequences. There were a couple...

CANTON — .The second of two Tea Party Express buses rolled out of downtown Canton at about 12:45 p.m. Departure of the buses followed what had been a festive event and rally that carried a message endorsing limited government, promoting the free market and expecting elected officials to uphold the Constitution and act fiscally responsible. The event at the Kresge lot on Market Avenue N lasted more than two hours. At least a few thousand people appeared to be in attendance. Organizers estimated the crowd at about 5,000.Some of those attending came from outside Stark County, including from Medina, Columbus,...

Arrived in DC this afternoon safe and sound. I will be posting pics at link over the next few days. If technically able, also links to YouTube vids of the Tea Party March itself. Staying at the FR Hotel, but I haven't met up with any FReepers yet. From my hotel window, I have a view of the Washington Monument and this other monument that I don't recall... I also saw Marine 1 flying in this afternoon as Obozo returned from some sort of memorial for Walter Crankheit... More pics to come. G

Followers of the Tea Party Express opposed to the excesses of 'big government' have made their voices heard at rallies across the countryside Giles Whittell in Jackson, Michigan On a warm, wet night in Michigan, Jan Crandall stands to attention while Taps is played on the sound system in honour of America’s war dead. Then she explains why she is carrying a placard bearing an astonishingly large number: $11,801,149,166,949. It is the US national debt — and it is rising by $3.5 billion a day. “We came out tonight because of the excessive spending,” she said. “We don’t like the...

Just got back from the tea party and had a great time. I would guess we had about 2 to 3,000 people. I finally met jim rob at the end. Overall it was peaceful and not the angry mobs that people think of us. I have never been to anything like this before and had a wonderful time. If anything it was just nice to be around like minded people who share the same beliefs and values. I dont have any pics of myself, but if anyone was there I was the young jewish kid walking around with the american...

Conservative movement traveling toward Washington, D.C.Conservative roadshow The Tea Party Express rolled into suburban New Lenox this Labor Day, drawing an expectation-breaking crowd of thousands who decried President Barack Obama, his health care initiative and stimulus spending. Organizers said they expected 200-400 people to attend the rally, but were blown away when a crowd -- which some claimed was north of 10,000 -- gathered with American flags and signs denouncing big government. New Lenox's Chief of Police, Bob Sterba, guessed the crowd was likely around 8,000 strong. A precise count was not available. Sterba said that one event organizer even...

WEST CHESTER TWP. — Thousands of people made their way to the Voice of America Park this afternoon, Sept. 5, for a Tea Party event. It was festival-like atmosphere of patriotism, with food vendors, face-painting for kids and live music for crowd that Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones estimated topped out at 18,000. People of all ages were wearing patriotic clothing in hues of red, white and blue, many carrying American flags and hand-made signs with myriad slogans. The event drew people from all over the region, including a family from Springfield. Laura and Andy Rosenberger of Springfield were...

Just got in from the Morristown New Jersey Tea Party Protest so here's a trip report. We left a little bit early because my Mother was with hubby and I and it was a little hot for her, so we left a little earlier then the scheduled ending event time. Parking was a little difficult so we had to go to a parking garage, lots of cars going in and license plates from New York and Pennsylvania also. The people were SO nice that we ran into, Conservatives really are a nice bunch of people. I spoke to someone in...
