  • Conservative Woodstock Rocks the Capital

    09/13/2009 3:44:23 PM PDT · by GVnana · 52 replies · 5,140+ views
This event had been promoted as a taxpayer “tea party” but the crowd’s concerns were wide ranging, from outrage at ACORN and Obama’s socialist cadre known as Czars, to Obama’s untruthfulness. Protesters also displayed signs mocking Nancy Pelosi and others for smearing the grassroots movement as “astroturfers” and as an “angry mob”.I think this gathering should be appreciated as the extremely important historical event that it is. This is the first great conservative anti-statist manifestation in American history. The conservative movement, which developed in the post-WWII, Cold War environment has now fully matured into the most significant political movement of...

I am so glad I get to say, “I was there!”This was the most incredible event I have ever participated in! Walking down Pennsylvania Ave. with all those people! We were singing, there was praying, the pledge of allegiance was said, there was a moment when the entire avenue erupted in a giant shout! It was like a wave that started from the back and slowly moved up the avenue. It was incredible. You could hear this giant shout from behind you moving closer and closer like a wave,, louder and louder and then it just swept over us and...

Because of the weather the day before, my husband and I waited until the last minute to decide whether or not to go to the DC Taxpayer Tea Party. On Saturday morning, it was overcast and cool so we decided to drive into Silver Springs and take the metro. We found ourselves in the same car with people carrying furled flags. They had driven in from Michigan. We all did introductions and began a conversation that lasted all the way into DC. They were enthused, pleasant, witty yet serious people who did not like the direction the country was taking...

Just wanted to give an after report from the San Jose Tea Party. It started today around 1pm on the corner of Winchester and Steven's Creek. I'd say there were several hundred protestors. Lots of cars were going by and honking in our support. As usual, it was full of nice peaceful all-Americans. I heard that some of the protestors were going to a Town Hall meeting that Mike Honda was having. I didn't know about it, so I couldn't go. I didn't have a camera so I can't post any pictures. It's always very encouraging to see so many...

The so-called “silent majority” broke the still morning air of Pennsylvania Avenue on the morning of September 12th, 2009. Approximately one million Americans congregated in our nation’s Capitol to make their frustrations known. Grassroots efforts in opposition to the continued growth of government have recently been ignored or labeled as hordes of ignorant radicals. People who have come to voice their concerns at town hall meetings have been disparaged by the leftist media (”tea baggers”) and degenerately denigrated as foolish due to their fervid efforts to raise logical and Constitutional concerns while desiring to engage in dialogue with their elected...

Even though the DC protest was much, much, bigger every little bit still helps. I did not see any SRM coverage so all the more reason to cover the one that happened in Phoenix today! Lots of flags and love of country on display . It happened in front of the State Senate. If they continue to ignore us using the first they will eventually see us use the 2nd amendment.

The only news media apparent was KIRO TV seattle who was there for 20 min,.Most of the speakers talked of health care.A huge cheer went up when one of the speakers was interrupted for an announcement of the Wash DC tea party attendace. The attendees were all having fun and enjoying the gorgeous late summer day.

I can’t make it to Washington DC today for the national 9/12 march, but I’m with all the marchers in spirit. It’s been an unprecedented year for limited government activism. It would never have been possible without the early initiative of grass-roots leaders in the #tcot community on Twitter, Smart Girl Politics #DontGo — and concerned moms like Keli Carender and Amanda Grosserode who stood up in their communities against reckless spending in Washington before anyone was listening. Before the cable news was paying attention. Before it became fashionable for politicians to latch on.

Here is an awesome video showing the progressive gathering of the massive crowd at the 9/12 "Taxpayers March on Washington" today. You can see the U.S. Capitol in the distance, where the massive crowd marched to from Freedom Plaza. The video shows the crowd gradually growing and marching down the street to the Capitol. It is clearly a crowd in the hundreds of thousands if not millions. So far, estimates have ranged from "tens of thousands" to "1.5 - 2 million." . . . (VIDEO)

On September 10, 2009, doctors, nurses and other medical professionals came to Washington, D.C. from across the country to show their opposition to Obamacare. This rally exploded the government-created myth that there is unanimity amongst health care professionals for Democrat plans to take over health care. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons came to D.C. to present a petition from doctors to lawmakers. The AAPS has been a voice for private physicians since 1943. Their motto is omnia pro aegroto, “all for the patient”. The doctors met with the representatives from their respective states and argued for a platform...

My sister just reported back to me from the doctors' rally in DC this evening. She went with her husband and 3 teenaged daughters. Here is what she reported: It was a great, well-behaved crowd of about 1000 -- mostly doctors and some nurses. They came from across the country and all sorts of practices. She said the speakers were just folks ... that they did not appear to be professional speakers. They were just doctors, speaking from the heart. They told of personal experiences of government interference in individual care and practices and the consequences. There were a couple...

ADDISON — A crowd estimated at 3,000 people assembled in the parking lot of an Addison restaurant Friday to protest the Obama administration's health care plan. Organizers of the Tea Party Express caravan said it was the biggest crowd since they began a cross-country, grass-roots marathon last month in Sacramento, California. Many attending the lunch time rally outside the Cape Buffalo restaurant carried signs reading "ObamaScare: It's to die for," "Hands off our Medicare & guns" and "'We're not going to pull the plug on Grandma' — THEY JUST WON'T PLUG HER IN." This is an outgrowth of "tea party"...
