Next month delegations of state lawmakers will travel to Phoenix, Arizona, to attend what organizers say will be the first formal convention of states since the Civil War. They’ll gather at the capitol, inside the turquoise-carpeted House chamber, and draw up rules for a hoped-for future meeting: a convention to draft an amendment to the U.S. Constitution. No “amendment convention” has taken place since the Constitution was written over 200 years ago. But the idea is gaining steam now, stoked by groups on the left and right that say amendments drafted and ratified by states are the last, best hope for...

Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts took to Twitter on Saturday to vilify the National Rifle Association and gun laws in Virginia as the reason behind the violent protests taking place in Charlottesville. Watt began retweeting various tweets with the same phrase: “The radicalization of America has been encouraged by the @NRA and open carry laws, which enable armed intimidation. #Charlottesville.” snip The Moms Demand Action account then sent out a series of tweets condemning members of the armed militia, saying they were there to intimidate protestors. The gun control group then went on to say open carry laws in...

Like they say, when it rains it pours. Had to retire this year because of a recurring injury. Now I've had to spend over $1200 in the last week for surgeries on both my cats. Louie had to have 5 rotten teeth extracted and Snooki developed a wound abscess after Louie bit her. Looks likes it time to take out health insurance for my furbabies. Mom has to rely on Cobra til Medicare kicks in. Another headache but oh, well:)

President Donald Trump desperately needs us all to know how important the battle against terrorism is to him. He tells us in speeches that he's "working night and day to keep our nation safe from terrorism." He flexes his Twitter fingers after any act of terror allegedly caused by a Muslim person hits nearly anywhere around the globe. But when an act of extremism appears to have been carried out against the Muslim community in the United States, he serves up radio silence. At around 5 a.m. on August 5, a bomb exploded at the Dar Al Farooq Islamic Center...

You may want to rethink having that bowl of corn flakes for breakfast. New research by experts at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles show that cereal is making people obese. Published in the journal of Nature Communications, the paper states that chemical ingredients commonly used in breakfast cereals are having distressing effects on our bodies. Looking at the effects of three different chemicals commonly ingested or exposed to humans, they found that each one was damaging the hormones needed to communicate between our brains and our stomach. When all three were combined, the damage was worse. One of the...

We now take more pills than ever. Is that doing more harm than good? If you’re like most Americans, you probably start your day with a hot shower, a cup of coffee—and a handful of pills. More than half of us now regularly take a prescription medication—four, on average—according to a new nationally representative Consumer Reports survey of 1,947 adults. Many in that group also take over-the-counter drugs as well as vitamins and other dietary supplements. It turns out Americans take more pills today than at any other time in recent history (see “Pill Nation: The Rise of Rx Drug...

It’s been a little over 200 days since Donald Trump was sworn in as president. The president has been under a constant media assault since he first stepped into the Oval Office. The media attacks have been constant, brutal and often fictitious. But it now looks like he has lost Matt Drudge. The Drudge Report headline on Saturday reads: “Make America Hate Again”. Obviously, Drudge is pushing responsibility for Saturday’s race riots and deadly assault on President Trump. It took six months for President Trump to lose his most influential supporter. This is a very sad development.

You just had to know that this was coming. The media, leading Democrats, and other charlatans are seeking to take political advantage over the ugly events in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday. Really, from the second that Governor Terry McAuliffe who is a longtime Clinton crime family operative to put the National Guard on standby over a rally by a number of far-right groups – including white supremacists – it was a done deal that Democrats, the media and RINO foes of President Donald Trump would blame everything on him.
