The FBI says bumbling California Gov. Gray Davis' fears of terrorist attacks on bridges are bogus, but he says he'll continue to err ... "on the side of caution
Heightened security will remain around four bridges, Davis said today, even after the feds said a warning about a possible terrorist plot targeting suspension bridges in the West between Nov. 2 and Wednesday was "not credible" after all.
Davis startled U.S. officials last week by announcing the threat.
I have the responsibility to keep Californians safe, and I'm going to err on the side of caution and keep the National Guard on those bridges," Davis insisted. The governor received criticism for broadcasting an advisory that was based on uncorroborated information and had not been meant for public release.
Davis said he chose to let people decide for themselves whether to avoid the bridges. "I wanted to treat Californians as adults
Defending his action, he said: "The intelligence community has to deal with some pretty scuzzy people. Some times they will totally BS you, and sometimes they will tell you the truth."

Hey, I don't think anyone ever expected Davis to do something intelligent. He has managed to muddle up one issue after the other. You are absolutely right about how he makes the dems look!

What's with the mildly annoying dancing cartoons, anyway? Just sucks bandwidth. Suggest, out of courtesy, you use graphics when they're of interest or pertain to the thread. Dancing bunnies don't. ...Not a flame, just a style point.

I honestly don't think it is a matter of idiots voting him in. I think it is a matter of university double registering students and motor voter allowing for votes that don't really exist. I will never believe that the voters in California really voted him in.

I will never believe that the voters in California really voted him in. I think you're on to something here. This issue has remained under the radar screen for way too long. It needs investigating, but nobody seems to want to take that task on, at least not in a way that will expose beyond a reasonable doubt what is going on.
