BREAKING: Anthrax Set to Be Pinned on "Right Wing Conspiracy," "FreeRepublic.com"

A senior Washington policy architect is warning of a State Department campaign to "pin the anthrax outbreaks on homegrown forces, which is to become a euphemism for right-of-center political activity." The official, who would speak only on condition of anonymity, maintains that Reuters and Associated Press have been furnished on 10/26 with a statement by senior State Department officials, which asserts that "a popular West Coast ultra-right organization" might be behind some of the anthrax poisonings.
That "popular West Coast ultra-right organization," asserts the Washington source, is FreeRepublic.com, based in Fresno, California.
FreeRepublic.com, founded by Jim Robinson, a disabled Vietnam veteran and until recently a lifelong registered Democrat, would not comment on the speculation.
Grassroots or "movement" conservatives are deeply concerned that to deflect public attention away from the Afghan bombing campaign and a possible failure of Special Operations forces to capture Osama bin Laden, liberal elements in the State Department might campaign to demonize so-called Constitutionalists, and in the process using the "suspicion of an anthrax plot" as pretext to confiscate firearms and imprison opponents of United Nations policy.
Defense Secretary Donald T. Rumsfeld, a veteran member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission--private policy institutes which seek the creation of a World Government--has hinted publicly in recent days that the UN should be involved in and possibly oversee the entire "War on Terror." Conservatives who remember the failed UN-governed "peace-keeping actions" in Korea and Vietnam bristled at Rumsfeld's comments.
