While the chance of finding any survivors in the World Trade Center rubble vanished long ago there is a survivor story.
A cat apparently trapped under the debris has been found alive, with a new litter of three kittens.
Rescuers found the cats curled up in a carton of napkins.
They were in a basement of what used to be a restaurant at the World Trade Center.Rescue workers rushed mom and the kittens to a vet.
Mom was dehydrated, however vets say all of the cats will be just fine.

We will not yield, we shall not fail- Good news for a TGIF!
That basement is 6 stories deep, concrete and there was lots of food down there...

I'm amazed. Cats are great. Remember Scarlett, the cat who saved her kittens from fire and got badly burned in the process? Fearless.

YAY! Kitty heroes!

Well I guess those cats are down to 7 lives(WTC collapse, and Chinese restaurant menu, Meow Goo Gaipan, or is that General Tsao's Kitten?).

I predict that they will soon be celebrities. The White House should adopt the whole lot.

Im wondering just what might be down there in that basement, there have been records of people trapped 30+ days in earthquakes and coming out alive.
Considering that the subway is down there 6-7 stories deep, ample food from the deserted food court restaurants and the cats obvously prove there is oxygen.

They could easily auction off the cats as a fundraiser.

I would not be surprised if they find a small pocket of survivors down there. There must be at least some areas in the basement that were survivable.

The White House should adopt the whole lot. Pres. Bush rescued an orange cat from a tree outside the governor's mansion in Texas and adopted it. It had 6 toes, was a mean little bastard (my kind of cat), loved the ranch at Crawford, but got shipped off to California because he "couldn't adjust" to the Whitehouse. I can just picture his little face, watching the Larry King Show, non-plussed that night that the First Lady was on and introduced their new dog. As I understand it, Pres. Bush was pretty brokenhearted over having to get rid of this cat. Maybe he would welcome these new ones...
