RCMP mum on report Kuwaiti found with sensitive documents on Ottawa sites

OTTAWA (CP) - RCMP weren't saying much Saturday about a report of a Kuwaiti man found with documents detailing Canadian atomic-energy facilities and disease-control labs.

U.S. agents were briefed in Canada regarding a 36-year-old Kuwaiti, whose belongings include documents that identify an Atomic Energy Canada building and a federal disease- and virus-control site, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

The discovery of the documents detailing the Ottawa buildings adds weight to growing concerns that Canada may have been targeted by terrorists.

RCMP officials said they could not confirm or deny the arrest of the Kuwaiti and FBI officials told the Times they could not release more information.

"It's part of an ongoing investigation and we're not in a position to provide any details right now," said Serge Lalonde, an RCMP spokesman in Ottawa.

It is unclear which buildings the Kuwaiti man's documents may have detailed. The Los Angeles Times report refers to "documents that identified specific buildings in an Ottawa government complex - notably the atomic-energy building and the virus- and disease-control labs."

Lalonde said infiltration of nuclear facilities has been identified as a major theme in the investigation of the threat that looms over North America.

RCMP did interview a researcher with Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., who worked at the Chalk River laboratory, about 200 kilometres northwest of Ottawa. However, Lalonde said no charges were laid in that investigation, which took place about two weeks after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. "Everything was verified and ... investigators were satisfied."

The researcher at the plant also had his security credentials rescinded. The company has refused to provide details about his dismissal.

Canada's nuclear power plants have stepped up security since the terrorist attacks in the U.S. The country's 22 reactors were placed on "enhanced security" within hours of the attacks in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

I'm sure Chretien will continue to insist that immigrants have a RIGHT to enter Canada for any purpose whatever.

"...These buggers are everywhere..."

Que pasa, Amigo? I'm trying to view this whole situation as a Military Operation, since WW-III is upon us, and has been started by some Muslims, originating somewhere. It sickens me to hear the words: "Bring them to Justice." We're in a war! I want to hear: "We're gonna kill those bastards!"

The so-called 'Terrorists' are the Enemys' Front-line troops, sorta-like our 'Special-Forces'. Estimates vary, but it appears that at least 50,000 of them have been trained in a variety of locations worldwide, and a goodly number of them are certified to be voluntarily suicidal, or 'Kamikazie'. Since the Enemy doesn't own a big Air Force or Navy, the 'Kamikazie' has become their weapon-of-choice.

Most Americans, and indeed, most civilized Peoples, have a difficulty in understanding a 'Kamikazie' philosophy at the beginning of a war. In reality, in modern times, this war started approximately with the fall of the Shah of Iran. We are in the end-game now, not the beginning!

From a Military standpoint, the blow struck at us was almost a success, almost! Ten aircraft, turned into guided missles, driven into value-targets, would have paralyzed our Country, and rendered us nearly impotent - forcing us to use Nuclear Weapons as a first-response. I think the bastards wanted that! Nuke Afghanistan, the most wretched piece of Real Estate on Earth, and become hated even more!

We'll win this one, and take down all the supporters of the terror-campaign that the American People will allow us to, but it feels real wierd to be fighting the Crusades again, in 2001. It will never be called a 'Religious-War' on TV, but anybody with a tiny-brain like mine can figure this one out. Stay well and vigilant, jerod...FRegards

It would be wise to locate the nuclear power plant closest to you and the 'prevailing winds.' That way, if something does happen, you'll know in what direction to go. Go into the wind away from the site.

I've always thought that Crusade was the proper word to describe this war. I still like the term Infinite Justice to describe the military operation.

The offensive thing to Islam, was that Infinite Justice can only be delivered by Allah. What they don't know, but what they should understand is this.

They are the infidels and we are on the side of right. Allah, Budda, Jesus and God all dwell here, and we shall be victorious.
