38 excerpted pages from the Scariest Book I've Ever Read - Biohazard by Ken Alibek

Yesterday and today I read a 300-page book by the former director of the Soviet Union's germ warfare program. In it, Dr. Ken Alibek, born Kanatjan Alibekov in what is now Kazakhstan, describes his work in the Soviet biological warfare program which was producing 80 tons of anthrax spores a year no more than 10 years ago. In 1992 he defected to the U.S. and is now employed by the Department of Defense. I got Biohazard at a used book store. It was not a best-seller and may be a little hard to find. It's listed as on back order at Amazon, which posts excerpts covering the first 38 pages. It is truly the scariest book I have ever read - vaccine-resistant smallpox, anthrax bombs on ICBMs, Bolivian hemorrhagic fever, and more. God knows what has been screened out as classified information. It's breaking news even if it was published last year. Follow this link to read the first 38 pages and customer reviews of Biohazard

Your right, I heard a jerk on Fox News today say that our embassy employees need to keep Cipro on hand, when asked if average people should stock up on it he said "No, not at all, embassy employees serve an important function, so they need to stock Cipro". Isn't that sweet? Makes me feel all united and everything.

""No, not at all, embassy employees serve an important function, so they need to stock Cipro"."

Forget any truth coming from this government. The average American citizen is expendible.

Just ordered my copy, most places had back orders of 2 to 5 weeks. B&N was the only place that had current stock. Amazon was even on BO status for this one, lots of folks reading this book.

Years ago, I had CBR (chemical, biological, radiological) warfare training in the Air Force. All I can say about it is that it scared the hell out of me. Even with all the protective gear available to the military, nobody would have much chance of surviving, IMHO.
