Gardai in Dublin have arrested three Libyans and an Algerian as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of international terrorist groups. The four men, aged between 24 and 39, were arrested during raids on five premises in Tallaght, Ballinteer and Rathmines shortly after 8am. Two of them were taken to Kevin Street Station, while the other two were taken to Terenure. Gardai said documents and £10,000 cash were also seized during this mornings operation. The four men were arrested under the Explosives Substances Act and are now being held under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. One is a naturalised Irish citizen who has lived in Ireland for more than 20 years and is married with children.

Other Irish source with more information:
The Taoiseach has said that there was no evidence linking people in Ireland with the attack on the World Trade Centre.
Bertie Ahern confirmed, however, that Gardaí have been monitoring a number of individuals, particularly over the past four weeks, who may have links with some of those involved.
He said that he would inform the Dáil if there was evidence of "anything more sinister".
Meanwhile, Gardaí are still questioning four men who were arrested as part of an investigation into the activities of international terrorist groups.
The four, three Libyans and an Algerian, are suspected by detectives of involvement in a support network connected to Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda network.
They were arrested during raids at five addresses in Tallaght, Ballinteer and Rathmines. The four are aged 39, 31, 26 and 24.
One of those detained is a naturalised Irish citizen who is married with children. Documents and £10,000 in cash were also seized. Another man is related to a suspect for the attempted attack in Los Angeles over the millennium.
Detectives from the Middle Eastern Section of the Special Detective Unit raided the men's homes in Dublin this morning. The four are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Terenure and Kevin Street Garda Stations.
Irishman on the FBI's list of suspects
THE FBI believes that an Irishman is connected with last month's terrorist attacks in the US.
The suspect, named Farid Arakgui, was born in Dublin in July or August 1962, but now lives in Florida, according to their confidential data.
His name was one of 370 which have been circulated to intelligence services, financial watchdogs and aviation authorities across Europe.
They are frenetically trying to trace all financial transactions of those listed and believe it will help create leads to the international web of terrorists connected with the attacks.
The FBI compiled the extensive list with the assistance of European intelligence agencies.
This list has now been distributed to the Irish Central Bank and their counterparts throughout the EU in the hope of tracking down further information on the location of those named.
Arakgui (39), also known as Freddi Arakgui and Farid Jean Arakgui, is believed to live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Farid Arakgui - why that's a name as Irish as they come! Reminds me of the great seventeenth-century Irish poet Muhammad O'Akhbar - or the valiant Irish liberator Achmed ibn Qazi McMahmoud.
Farid Jean Arakgui
was born in Ireland, by cracky.
To Florida, he flew
Poked a chad or two
And now he's Bin Laden's lackey!
I sort of figure keeping a sense of humor will keep us sane during all this turmoil.
