[history]
WASHINGTON -- Federal bureaucracy and airline lobbying slowed and weakened a set of safety improvements recommended by a presidential commission--including one that a top airline industry official now says might have prevented the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
The White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security, created in 1996 after TWA Flight 800 crashed off Long Island, N.Y., recommended 31 steps that it said were urgently needed to provide a multilayered security system at the nation's airports.

The INS are the real ones to blame, if you had to choose amongst them.

And we're the airlines $15 billion why exactly? We're expanding the useless Federal government's powers why exactly?
To: Rodney King
Was this the commission that Algore was on? The day after deciding that the recommendations would be to costly for the airlines, the airlines donated big $$$ to the DNC.

Liberal disinformation to divert attention away from Al Gore's involvement in the scandal.

We're expanding the useless Federal government's powers why exactly? A statement issued by the FAA: "work has progressed over the years . . . with a sense of urgency and resolve."
That makes me ill. Only a government bureaucrat would make such an assinine statement.

Yes.On Fox News a week ago or so.They had documents that Al Gore signed telling the airlines in so many words they do not have to face the financial burden of security costs. The airlines were 'so grateful'...the very next day a long list of major airlines is documented in making over 6 figure donations to Clinton/Gore/DNC. We were terrorized and thousands killed because of kickbacks of the Clinton Gore/DNC.
Is this on FR could someone post the URL?

The FAA is so bad, it is almost science fiction. Have they cleaned up the cult that was billing it millions in fees, disguised as "management consulting," yet?

Rebelbase: Was this the commission that Algore was on? The day after deciding that the recommendations would be to costly for the airlines, the airlines donated big $$$ to the DNC.
Total Year 2000 campaign donations from federal disclosure forms, by Airline groups, via individuals, PACs and soft money:$6.8 million.
In order from largest contributor: American Airlines $1.4 million, Republicans 59 %, Democrats 40%; Northwest 52% D, 47% R; United Airlines 62% R, 37% D; Delta 50% D, 49% R; US Airways 66% R, 34% D; Continental 75% R 25% D; Southwest 73% R, 27% D; Air Transport Assn 68% R, 32% D; America West Airlines 88% R, 12% D; Alaska Airlines 84% R, 16% D.
link Now let's see your link. Or are you just quoting someone who was throwing out accusations? If we follow your logic and blame the airlines foot-dragging on who raked in the most campaign donations, then do we blame it on Bush and Republicans? See how this blame game can turn around and blow up in your face?
I've got a suggestion, how about we all get behind President Bush in his efforts against terrorism, as Gore has done, and stop pointing fingers. Blaming everything on Gore is not going to stop Bin Laden and the terrorist network.

Thank God! I was so glad to see your post!
I was just looking all over The O'Reilly Factor video archives for this on Fox News. Does any FReeper have user name password to get the video online?

Courtesy of CaL and others at FR, the whole sordid mess is laid out in blood red.
As usual, FR is well ahead of the curve in exposing the criminals of all stripes that infest the government.

There is plenty of blame to go around.
But , yes the INS is right at the top of the list. Followed closely by almost all fedgov bodies , agencies, committees, and task forces, investigations and studies.
Yes, there is plenty of blame to go around....(this is when I start to mutter to myself.....;)
