INS Fails to Track Foreign Students Despite Order to Do So
National Public Radio | Sept. 18, 2001 | National Public Radio

Every once in a while, NPR actually carries a story that is interesting and informative. (Before you flame me for listening to Commie Radio, understand it's part of my "Know Thy Enemy" strategy.)

Such was the case this past Tuesday, when “Morning Edition,” did a segment on how the INS never implemented a policy that was supposed to track those entering the country on student visas, a policy that was FIVE YEARS OLD. I think you’ll agree that the excuses the quoted INS official gives are pretty lame.

All the while I kept thinking, “They couldn’t implement a policy that has major influence on the security of the USA, but the Clinton/Gore administration made it a top priority to naturalize people who would never be eligible in the first place -- rapists, murderers, drug traffickers, etc. It was all about getting votes.

Go here and scroll down to “Student Visas” and listen with Real Audio.

Better to harass the citizens with gun control or some other zany regulations than worry about security.

After all you have to root out those right wing militias than uncover 200 professional terrorist, infiltrators. You dare not offend the alien.

We don't want to deport Arab terrorists. It is far more important to stage no-knock raids on U.S. homes to find Americans who may have shotguns sawn a half-inch too short.

We definitely need to change some things once this is all over. We need a government that provides for our common defense. Instead of wasting time and money spying on Americans and doing background checks on us, they need to stop letting in the enemy. Obviously no background checks were made on the Arabs.

The INS is about as corrupt an agency as any. They refuse to deport known illegals, even criminal illegals.

Thanks for posting this. They couldn't bother tracking these students, but they could go out of their way to disallow military ballots for people who were defending their country's way of life. I become more incensed each time I think of it.

I posted a thread a few days ago about my friend, a college professor, with concerns about some Arabs using the school computer. Found on the C drive were messages of threats to the President and messages of people dying. The webmaster looked into it and said it was 'just a worm' but still my friend is suspicious and nervous about these students. Freepers here gave me the FBI phone number for her to call and alert. But, how often is this stuff going on over here. Students definitely need to be examined. Heck, I got grilled for having an old Wisconsin plate in the backseat of my car when crossing the border in Canada/Maine. These students should be grilled too.

We have 11 million illegal aliens, that they admit to, we could probably double that number and be more accurate. How does anyone track that? When an agency like the INS is prevented from doing their job, it saps their will and their integrity.

We have airport workers selling fake employee id's to terrorists and drug mules, we have people in high places selling critical information to terrorists. Corporations and politicians that are hungry for Arab money and will sell the future and saftey of everyone under the label "diversity". The corruption in this nation infects everything from the bottom to the top.

I don't see alot of people angry about that, it's pretty amazing.

I have a friend in the INS and they are largely controlled by the Justice Dept. (Which under Reno seemed currupt).

But as to the issue of traking foreign students, he said that they used to have a very strigent system where every move of the student was watched (they would have to bring in schedules, grades, institution changes, location changes, as well as face to face checkups), but a few years ago they were told that it was too much paper work and that they were to turn it over to the schools. The schools were to determine what kind of tracking they would do and it was up to them as to when (up to six months) they would send in any report to the INS. My said that they only stamped the original entry and approval for the first school and after that they were basicly at the mercy of the school for further information.

So, he said, the following scenario is(was) possible. A foreign student comes in and gets approval to go to beauty school, after the first week he can leave and attend flight school and no-one who needs to know knows.

Doris Meisner was too busy kidnapping a little boy to perform her mandated duties.

This situation like the hijackings has its source in money. US employers want to hire cheap labor. many of the jobs as in construction used to pay well. When the illegal invasion began Americans found themselves no longer wanted. The nerve of them expecting a decent wage from someone building homes that sell for half a mil. The same is true with airport security. Hire cheap. Why do you think so many immigrants are doing those jobs? Rather than raise ticket prices a buck to pay for competent people the airlines skimped. The result will more than likely ruin them. God knows this mind set has damn near destroyed the country. We now have so many immigrants that any corrective action will be politically impossible. And wages will continue to decline until most working stiffs will not be able to buy much of anything. Third world here we come.

That's right. There was a thread on here yesterday from the Foreign Economist suggesting that allowing a nation to form between Mexico and the USofA is a good idea and is even on the table. Incredible.

I jokingly suggested conservatives take it over and begin immediate expansionism. I have posted before that we would not recognize the USofA in another five years. I don't recognize it now.

And ... better to stage phoney IRS audits on conservatives - just to put them in their place and let them know who really has the power. These people are evil!

After all, aren't they just engaging in commerce? Isn't that what it's all about....buy....sell......good for the economy.......keeps people employed..........patriotic. Isn't that the American way of life? If it isn't, it sure seems that way from observing comments here and actions in the community. Anything for a buck.

Don't know if this nation is still a nation of religion but I do see many praying at the altar of the ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR!

Yuck, I know your right, this discribes alot of people today. The honest man doesn't have a chance and sure doesn't deserve the dangers that result from this kind of corruption. We could soon be watching our children die of antrax, because someone saw a chance to make a little unreported money on the side.

I was heart broken to find out that looting went on at ground zero. It really is time for people to do a deep serious introspection, but will they?

Your #11 - So true. I find that people such as the border patrol agents are very honorable people, but the management, as usual, is the corrupt part.
