Local and national support for naming the future I-10 bridge in Mobile Alabama in memory of a fallen paratrooper... Corporal Chris Mason (KIA 28 November 2006 Iraq)... continues to grow.

The Facebook page that was setup, for people to like and show support has over 6,000 people listed and growing each day. Most are people from Lower Alabama, where the bridge will be constructed. But still there is a great deal of resistance from the "good ole boy network". Chris will need your help.

Corporal Chris Mason once said.... Being in the military is about putting your life on the line for the warrior to your left, and the warrior to your right... and making sure the job gets done without leaving anyone behind... and that's called family.

Support a Fallen brother... and help get this bridge named in memory of Corporal Chris Mason. -Like The His Facebook Page-

I am all for naming the bridge after Corp. Chris Mason.

I wish they would build the bridge but I don’t see it for a long time to come.

Boycott, thanks for your support, and thank God for patriots.

You’re right, it will be some time before the bridge happens... but the way politics work we’ve got to get Corporal Chris Mason’s name out there in front of the Alabama State Law makers... was told by a state senator that it’s never to early to start. Then I was told by a person “in the know” that we could come up with 10,000 supporters and Corporal Chris Mason’s name will still not be on that bridge.

So we work it, and we’ll keep working it. As far as I’m concerned everything should be about these men and women who have given their lives to keep people such as Al Qaeda and ISIS away from our families, cannot honor them enough.

I-10 already runs its course. Why not name the stretch prior to the bridge being built?

Good move!

Have long held that taxpayer owned public buildings SHOULD NEVER be named after anyone other than citizens who have fallen while in the service of those in our country.

That would include military personnel, LEO's, firefighters, helicopter ambulance pilots, etc. both at the federal and state level.

Politicians should not automatically be on anyone's list for just doing their job; to say nothing of the fact many folks voted against any such politician.

That's exactly what I'm saying. But no one else has stepped up, only Corporal Chris Mason's dad came forward at the public hearing concerning the bridge and pointed out that we have a new generation of heroes, a generation of volunteers who have been at war since 2001... and he used a quote from CPL Mason as an example:

“This is the time in our lives that we're making history... this is our moment... we all came into the military knowing that we could be sent over here, but we chose to do that anyway... ‘cause we choose to believe that the patch [American Flag] that we wear on our shoulder stands for something greater than our selves, greater than where we're from... we're the fabric that holds the flag together.”

I gather that the bridge would cross Mobile Bay south of the city?

Is the traffic that heavy in Mobile?
