Please indulge me, my Friends and Brothers and Sisters in Arms I've been trying to update this graphic which I periodically post on the FR Canteen, but every time I make a change some new enormity arises. Last week, our WWII Veterans were denied entry to their own Memorial in the last twenty-four hours, our most recent Fallen have been denied their death benefits by this most craven and evil of Regimes.
During my tour in Vietnam, we left no man behind. On occasion, we lost men retrieving the Fallen. This Regime has no more regard for our Military than they would for a bug hovering over their Chateaubriand. They must be defeated they must be turned out!
Damn them and their unholy TREASON to the Eternal Fires of Hell!!!

Thanks. Very eloquent. One of my family is buried at Gettysburg. We who no longer wear the uniform actively are STILL our countries military while those who do are less so each day. One need not get papers and a paycheck to prepare to defend our country.

What you said... Could not have been better stated. Though we served in different decades, the feelings are shared. You are my brother in arms. Our ancestors served, perhaps even along side each other... Though I miss my father terribly, I thank God he is not here witnessing this. I wrote this a couple of years ago... It is still applicable. I’m doing what I can...
The Gift They Gave Us
They fought and struggled to deliver it.
Some fell along the way.
Some silently recall their journey.
Some lay in silent graves.
We live our lives concerned with time,
Or what we have or havent got.
Weve left their gift to wither away,
Since their hardships we forgot.
But I see the fields of stones and flags,
And a tear comes to my eye.
I hear their voice, they call to me.
They ask the question Why?
My son holds my hand and asks me,
Daddy why are you so sad?
I swallow hard and say Im okay,
While I straighten the flag for my dad.
I stand up and realize,
The gift, it must be passed on.
I know I must restore it, though,
Before I leave it to my son.
I hear my dad his voice is loud.
He says You know what must be done!
Step up and make me proud my boy,
Give FREEDOM to your son!

Thank you very much, Ma'am! I must tell you that I have the highest regard for our Navy Nurses. They taught me the rudiments in Corps School. On the wards, I was most fortunate to serve with a host of dedicated, compassionate and highly professional Nurses. One of them, LCDR Daisy Herrington, had just returned from a tour at 1st Med in Danang when she took over as our Ward Nurse on the Surgical Ward at USNH Quantico - she was an outstanding nurse and officer. I owe a lot to her and to so many others.

Your poem is most welcome, Brother! Eloquent in its simplicity and honesty. May I employ it in posts here on FR?

I'm with you as always, Doc! This latest outrageous inaction is totally unacceptable.
Treason doth never prosper: what's the reason? Why if it prosper, none dare call it treason.

Me and mine are with you FRiend.
Right now, we can only do small things. Write and call Congress, don't buy from or donate to, known liberal organizations, try and get the truth out to liberals we may know.
But we will act when called. I don't know how to say it. I know there will come a time for a stand.
We stand with you.
May God bless our efforts and yours.

Use it all you wish... (With credit, please).
People need to get past what I refer to as their “10 foot radius syndrome” (if it doesn’t take place within a 10 foot radius, they take no note of it - to their own demise) and start seeing the bigger picture and how what is taking place will impact them. Hence the lines from the poem...

I know the day will come.
I fear it, yet embrace it.
I don’t want it, yet I look forward to it.
I don’t see it happening in my lifetime, yet it is happening before my eyes.
That day.
The day to take a stand against those who would snatch the victory the blood of our soldiers paid for with their lives.
