Top RLC National Leader Switches Support From Paul to Cruz
Conservative Fifty ^ | January 3, 2016 | Javan Browder, Managing editor

Ted Cruz is continuing to consolidate support from among many of his primary rivals. Recently, as leader Ben Carson has seen a virtual implosion within his campaign, and with his poll numbers in a freefall, Cruz has surged into the lead in Iowa, and is in a solid second place nationally as well as in South Carolina, Florida, Nevada and Georgia. Cruz's surge is largely based on picking up the support of Carson voters, especially evangelical voters who are leaving Carson for Cruz in large numbers.

But Cruz is also seeing support come his way from the "Liberty" movement.

Steve Hoffman of Horry county South Carolina, who serves as one of three at-large National Directors for the Republican Liberty Caucus, has also been serving as an Horry county grassroots coordinator with the Rand Paul campaign.

Hoffman tells us that though he still has a lot of respect for Paul and wishes him the best, he has recently decided to switch his support from Paul to join the Ted Cruz super PAC, Keep The Promise I. Hoffman said that, "Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are undoubtedly the two candidates in this race who are the true Liberty movement candidates, the two who support and fight for the Constitution and understand our inalienable God-given rights."(continued)

What was Cruz’s role in the MS mess?

That’s a question that needs answering.

Ted Cruz came out months ago with his plan to abolish the Dept. of Education and four other government agencies.

“Emotion” is for wrestling fans. I want the clear headed, passion of a proven principled Conservative. Ted Cruz is the best to come along since Reagan.

Which is strangely hypocritical when he co-sponsors a bill to help fix Head Start.

So, which is it? Keep education? Get rid of it?

Was Cruz in a position to abolish the Dept. of education at the time he tried to improve one of its programs? No, he was not. As President, he would be in a much better position to abolish it and give the issue of education back to the people at a local level.

Nope, but he is currently in a position to NOT support big government programs like Head Start and he currently FAILS at that.

Ted Crus isn’t anything like Goldwater. He, and this election are more akin to 1980.

Hey, if Cruz is President, at least Goldman Sachs will be happy.

So support the ultimate crony-capitalist, Kelo-loving, Canadian-style single-payer health care guy instead.

Hypocrite.

I've been playing devil's advocate and supporting Cruz on another thread. So far I've learned that Trump supporters are much nicer in response than the nasty responses I receive from Cruz supporters.

And you guys are supposed to be the higher road Christians.

You're mostly turning out to be awful people. It's been an interesting eye-opener.

They know you for a fellow Trump supporter. I have had exactly the opposite experience.

You mean the democrat that co-sponsored a bill recently for Head Start? Oh, wait....that was Ted Cruz.

Glad to have the voters come together but many libertarians are anti-conservative globalist social marxists. Cruz is a liberal before liberals became marxists. That is a good thing. Before Marxism took over many decades ago, Liberals used to respect the constitution and the rule of law.

I am not inspired by Cruz on immigration (more of the same) and on global trade (more of the same). I think he’ll kiss muslim refugee butt and that will hurt our country by increasing terrorism and harassment. He’d have a lot of fixing to do fast and I think he’s cut out for it and ready.

I kind of like it that George W Bush does not like him. I don’t mind him not being seen as in the DC “in” crowd.

But I do think he’ll protect the constitution and it’s Republic from the National and international globalist and Marxist wolves. If things go hot into WWIII, I trust him to handle it to our benefit whatever that turns out to be.

He's given no indication of that. He has said we ought to ban all "refugees" from the countries that sponsor jihad, and he wants the rest of them vetted. He's just not comfortable going with a blanket ban on all Muslims. I'd let a guy like Zuhdi Jasser in here, wouldn't you?

Cruz is as tough on immigration as any candidate in the race.

A lot of "libertarian" conservatives are coming to Cruz.

Well they can't be very liberty friendly (or Constitution friendly either) since they are backing the candidate that voted to reauthorize the anti-liberty, unConstitutional Patriot Act. Rand Paul BTW single handedly killed the Patriot Act.

No, he didn’t. He opposed the Patriot Act. He has talked about that in his campaign.

The Donald does not attempt to appeal to logic or reason, but taps in on the vast reservoir of emotion

BULL
Trump is very good on (illegal) immigration which threatens to existence of our country. All the other candidates are horrible to weak on the issue of (illegal) immigration and on the issue of (illegal) immigration we can not take any chances or we will lose the country. I do not understand why the above is so hard for some folks to understand. Once you understand it you will know why so many real conservatives and real patriots support Trump.

Get immigration wrong this election cycle and country will belong to the Marxist globalists FOREVER.
