Ted Cruz is continuing to consolidate support from among many of his primary rivals. Recently, as leader Ben Carson has seen a virtual implosion within his campaign, and with his poll numbers in a freefall, Cruz has surged into the lead in Iowa, and is in a solid second place nationally as well as in South Carolina, Florida, Nevada and Georgia. Cruz's surge is largely based on picking up the support of Carson voters, especially evangelical voters who are leaving Carson for Cruz in large numbers.
But Cruz is also seeing support come his way from the "Liberty" movement.
Steve Hoffman of Horry county South Carolina, who serves as one of three at-large National Directors for the Republican Liberty Caucus, has also been serving as an Horry county grassroots coordinator with the Rand Paul campaign.
Hoffman tells us that though he still has a lot of respect for Paul and wishes him the best, he has recently decided to switch his support from Paul to join the Ted Cruz super PAC, Keep The Promise I. Hoffman said that, "Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are undoubtedly the two candidates in this race who are the true Liberty movement candidates, the two who support and fight for the Constitution and understand our inalienable God-given rights."(continued)

After the election we are confident we still have Cruz with his conservative instincts. The other candidate's assistants can be fired as they are no longer needed.
I was not making accusations of Ted Cruz or any of his supporters.
I watched as Barry Goldwater got ground into the dust in 1964, by a very distinctly inferior rival. As one of Goldwater’s more fervent and vocal supporters, the crushing defeat that election night left me with a lingering sense of being unable to place much faith in fellow Americans, much more swayed by emotion than by any kind of logic or reason.
Goldwater, as it turned out, was not running against LBJ, but against the ghost of John F. Kennedy, a very formidable opponent, and his message fell upon deaf ears at the time.
Ted Cruz finds himself in a similar position, the nation suffering paralysis of analysis, and again deaf to reason.
Love him or hate him, The Donald does not attempt to appeal to logic or reason, but taps in on the vast reservoir of emotion that has built up in that territory once known as “the United States of America” and is in a position to harness that vast store of potential energy to, as The Donald says, “Make America Great Again.”
Federal lands are missing from the tax base. It would be better to have those lands in private hands where they have a chance of producing revenue.
The reality is, the elections are won or lost by gaining (or losing) the vote of the emotion-driven low-information voter.
Love him or hate him, The Donald can tap into that emotion, whereas Ted Cruz, being an ethical, logical, and highly dedicated patriot, may not be able to. To the low-information voter, frankly, Cruz comes across as downright scary. And in a general election, Herself would trade on that emotional reaction, somehow picturing Cruz as even MORE scary than Herself is.
Sometimes you have to use stupidity against itself.

Kelo turns out to be a pretty interesting case as I'm sure you know. I'm a Realtor so eminent domain can and is still an issue in my area from time to time.
The Kelo decision exposed a weakness in a vast majority of the state's laws regarding the use of eminent domain for 'economic development' and how that could be interpreted for development by private entities. This is apparently why the plaintiff never won in any of the courts. The lengthy legal process as well as the changing economnic conditions of the area really made Kelo look awful
As far as Trump's position on Kelo, at the time it was found to be legally correct so on that level I can't really argue with it. Face it, the laws sucked at that time. With the states clarifying their eminent domain laws, Kelo should not be duplicated.
On a local level, I've seen where landowners have had to fight for at least fair compensation on land seized under eminent domain and we have a famous case of a guy that got his land land-locked by the transportation department.
All I need to know is that Glenn Beck is 100% for Ted Cruz.
That is clear indication to run..RUN in the other direction.

I realize Trump is a commercial real estate guy, but given he wants to be president I would’ve been happier if he wouldn’t have endorsed the courts decision when he didn’t have to.
He’s crapped on the constitution plenty of times.

Vote for the most likely winner in a contest against Herself, or don’t vote for that person. That is entirely your choice and I would not attempt to persuade you otherwise.
Ideological or intellectual purity may not be a luxury that all of us can afford.

I don’t agree. Cruz has been the only one rising in the polls for a month or so.
Cruz is a well known constitutional expert. Trump probably couldn’t tell you the bill of rights.
The polling this far out is meaningless.
Cruz would never be VP for an unprincipled man with no core values or convictions, except to further his fortunate and put up the 100 foot signs saying “look how great I am”.
I wouldn’t let Trump in my house if he came to my door.
He is a bully, whiner, braggart and has changed views more than the sitting congress combined.
And still Trump rules the polls. LOL!
