What America will look like in 2050, in 4 charts
The Washington Post ^ | April 3 2015 | By Philip Bump

In 35 years time -- time enough for several presidents, more than a few changes in the control of Congress, and a few dozen new seasons of "House of Cards" -- America will look different.

Not entirely different of course, but, as we've noted in the past, its demographics will have shifted enough to be noticeable. And with the release of new projections from Pew Research tracking how religious beliefs are expected to evolve, we now have a fuller picture of how America will have changed by the time today's toddlers are stalking Capitol Hill. Even if we don't necessarily know what it will mean for American politics.

Let's start with the shift in America's religious attitudes, according to Pew. In brief summary, more Americans will identify as being "unaffiliated" with any organized religion. This doesn't necessarily mean that they will be atheistic or agnostic; it simply includes the wide body of people who don't categorize their belief systems into an existing religious practice. People who are spiritual in a broad sense are included, but Wiccans, for example, aren't.

Yes, that is true. Did you figure that out by yourself?

I’m glad you posted something positive vs all paranoid and schizoid. I like to think I align with the Tea Party and am 100% Ted Cruz. I live in rural Texas and I just counted the numbers, my street is 50% Mexican, actually I thought it was higher.
I admit, I do HVAC but I don’t think that has anything to do with the fact that I get along fine with all of them. I own 2 properties on the street and they all know it, my son and co-worker live in the other.
All the Mexicans where I live work, take care of their families and yes some every Sunday go to church.
I’m sorry, I spend a lot of time at home because I get a nice yankee city pension and have my own license to work for myself.
I spent about an hour talking on the phone with my daughter while watching the Mexican across the street training his horse to ride. I don’t know where he came from but trust me this dude is a real cowboy. He had that horse dancing all around like it was marching then left, right gallop. It was so cool.
I know this may sound crazy to most people and it did to me at first 35 yrs ago when I first visited rural Texas BUT believe it or not when you drive down the road even strangers wave to you.
Being a yankee and unfamiliar with ditches and all, of course my truck got stuck. After numerous times of waving hello and never having met the Mexican cowboy across the street, he came right over with a come along and chains and pulled me out as the right neighborly thing to do. I soon bought a come along and had chains and pulled my neighbor Mexican out.
One thing about living is having good neighbors. It would be sad to see my neighbors who I don’t know are legal or not get deported.

hammer away

One more thing, those charts are way out of wack. There will be way more people in the usa than their numbers. Can you honestly believe for a second that we’ll be at 375 million in 2050 when we are probably close to that now.

You may not be taking into account the future reduction in lifespan due to the Obamacare Death Panels.

Shorter lifespans will lead to less population at any given time.

Hey Nas, glad u brought that up though. Thankfully, I came from a large Irish family and my most of my siblings remained local to take care of my elderly parents. Thankfully 2 of my sisters took care of all the medical bs with my elderly 85 yr old father because to be honest I would never know who to call nor what to do. I used to have a gold card medical plan, rarely ever used for myself but presently since semi-retired don’t have nor plan to carry medical insurance.
Here’s the deal, my son has no insurance either. He has super high blood pressure and a bad knee. He could probably easily qualify for a disability but I was raised that we take care of our own. Therefore, I use him periodically to help me do HVAC installs even though it’s a super strain on him. He was a bit uptight with me. He was always a great brazer and always did great welds but now he can’t physically bend down and do as before. So, the other day when a few welds had leaks, plus his BP must have been making him sweat like crazy, I said, I’ll do it and he felt offended.
My Major Point is this. My mom is worried sick at 84 herself after the medical took practically all their assets for my fathers care.

Let me ask you this, why would the government/medicare pay for 85 or 90 yr old folks like my father and Jimmy Carter to have cataract surgery or cancer or whatever, especially when you have young people that need medical help and will be productive tax payers.

“I hated hippies when I went to college with them and I hate them now. “

Unfortunately they are the ones running the country now.

“Latinos believe in Christ. And family. That counts for something.”

Not when breaking laws and taking free handouts and taking jobs from Americans are their actions.

To believe in Christ means to follow his actions. You are known by the fruits of your labor.

And the percentage of illegitimate births by illegals is very high - hardly what the Bible endorses. But it’s easier to live off of working Americans that way.

“Have any idea of what it’s like in Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Bay Area?”

I escaped Mexifornia and will never go back. These people here in Tennessee have no clue how good they have it. They don’t believe me when I tell them how bad the invasion is in the border states. It’s hard to fathom when you don’t live there. It’s like living in another country, where being white gets you discriminated against yet you have to pay taxes to support the criminal invaders.

“As financial stature increases, child rearing decreases. “

And the financial stature of illegals from Mexico, etc, doesn’t vary much with generations. The culture doesn’t value education. They are not like the Asians! They are happy to stat in taxpayer-subsidized poverty for generation after generation.

Has being here for 100 years made the black community affluent?

“That’s like saying better learn Italian/Chinese/German after various earlier immigration waves. The successful immigrants will learn English, and eventually the children/grandchildren of the rest will do so also. I hope.”

Not hardly. Why are we pressing 1 for English then?

The legal Irish and Italian immigrants were expected to learn English and were not catered to by liberals.

The massive invasion we have now does not encourage anyone to assimilate. Go to Mexifornia- Americans are expected to learn Spanish. Most jobs require you to be bilingual, signs in stores are in Spanish, even teachers in schools are teaching in Spanish!

You are obviously NOT in a border state. GO visit one and get back to me.

The Irish were quick learners. They mastered English on the way over.

America as we know it will have long ceased to exist by 2050. Mexicans and middle eastern muslims will be fighting for control of the landmass.

“Latinos believe in Christ. And family. That counts for something.”

Not exactly comforting. They also believe at least 50% of the current American landmass belongs to Mexico.

You can’t blame the Boomers for the immigration Act of 1965.

Fat Ted and LBJ were primarily responsible.

It was the beginning of the for those who made this country great.

Once upon a time, Democrats defended slavery. They no longer do.

Sure they do: tax and regulation slavery.
