Roman Catholicism went off the rails back near its very inception when Constantine made it the official religion of the Roman Empire and incorporated paganism into it to make it more palatable to the newly converted heathens.

Nor can Catholicism be credited with preserving God’s word. That is the work of God, not man. Roman Catholic history is replete with examples of them trying to keep God’s word out of the hands of the populace to the point of destroying all copies of the Bible that they didn’t approve of.

They did the world no favors.

It failed. Miserably. It substituted what it thought were "traditions of men" for actual "traditions of men".

Give some examples, please.

Denominations are not the church Jesus is building, no matter what they claim.

Every denomination has members in it who are unsaved and genuinely saved. The only difference is the proportions.

Catholicism does not have a corner on the truth market, not being the only true church.

The body of Christ Jesus is building is composed of individual believers whenever and wherever they have lived. It is NOT one particular denomination over against another.

And that especially includes the corrupt and infested Roman Catholic organization. It is NOT the representation of God or Christ to this planet. They forfeited that right centuries ago with their immoral and corrupt leadership and actions.

I agree. The "thirty thousand" or whatever the number is simply show that a certain theological trend that began about 500 years ago is a failure and is NOT The Church. Jesus founded His Church 2000 years ago, and however imperfect its earthly leadership may be, it still stands and the gates of hell will never prevail against it.

I agree. Even the mohammedans have at least one Truth in their otherwise extremely wrong set of beliefs.

not being the only true church.

Thank you for expressing your opinion. I do not agree with it.

Two contradictory propositions cannot both be true.

The Catholic religion is far from unified.

The Roman rite and the Orthodox have been in schism for about a thousand years, not to mention other sub-variants of other rites and groups like the sedavacantists. Every group is claiming that they are the true original Catholic church and the others are not.

Catholics are in no position to point fingers over doctrinal differences when they can’t even agree on whether the duly elected pope by the College of Cardinals according to Catholic protocol, is actually the real pope or not.

The Catholic religion has become the gates of hell for far too many people it has abused.

It’s blasphemy to claim that the Roman church is representing Christ to the world.

Really? The homosexual, child molesting clergy supported by the Vatican which hosts cocaine fueled orgies is an example of Jesus sinless holiness? Pope Francis is the Vicar of Christ?

Since when did Jesus condone, enable, or protect sin, especially something as vile and perverted as child molestation?

You can find the examples by reading and studying the Bible. This forum is not the place to discuss the matter, because I would then have to go into indepth and multi-page discussions as to why some of the doctrines the RC church holds are anti-Biblical.

However, anybody can read their Bible and study for themselves on the issue. I don’t believe anybody who follows the Christ will be lost because they keep doctrines that cannot be squared with the Bible. If that were the case, we’d all be lost.

I only courtesy pinged you.

The question was not directed towards you.

I was also baptized and raised Catholic and found Christ at age 22 so am well aware of the areas where Catholicism is unbiblical.

When I first got saved and started going to church again, I went back to the Roman Catholic church, it being the only one I knew. However, I also began to desire to read God’s word, so went out and bought a Bible and read it voraciously. But the more I read it, the more discrepancies I saw between Scripture and the teachings and practices of Catholicism.

A few months later, I found a small evangelical Bible believing and teaching church to go to and started attending there. I left Catholicism and never regretted it and never looked back.

Amen.

I thought you were directing your comments to me. Haha
From what I know, every church has teachings that are comfortable to keep, but are not necessarily Biblical.

An example that I found for my church, SDA, is in regards to clean and unclean foods and drinking alcohol. Being unclean, Biblically, just means being a health risk to the community or being at risk from the community for health risks. It’s not a condemnable state, as some in my church have come to understand it.

The penalty for eating unclean foods or drinking alcohol is to be considered unclean for the time it takes to process what you consumed, with the penalty being an inability to enter the church (temple or synagogue) during this time which would be about 8 hours.

It’s the huge penalty that my church has taught, that you must avoid even if takes your life.

If my church was a completely obedient church, it would change its doctrine on clean foods and alcohol to better reflect the Bible. The Bible does not teach your salvation could be lost if you are in a state of uncleanliness. The only stricture for being in a state of uncleanliness is that you have to avoid the the temple or church during that period.

I had noticed that many of the OT rules on uncleanness were mostly hygiene or health related.

I have read that the Jews suffered less from the Black Death because of their adherence to Scriptural commands regarding hygienic practices.

Yes they did, which is one of the reasons for Europe’s bigotry against Jews. They thought that Jews dealt in black magic, instead of just keeping the health laws.

I think that a person would do well to go through the OT laws on health to see if there is still any validity to them and keep them if they are. Not because it adds to their salvation to keep them, but it may help keep them healthier over the course of their life.

28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual[a] immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.

Farewell.

The Pope is the False Prophet, but the RC church is the First Beast, if Adventists are correct.

Having said that, I think that applies to the Last and Days and not historically. Yes, the RC has always been a world power, but it was relatively faithful in protecting God’s Word, so I don’t view those descriptions as being applicable historically. Historically, the RC has done a lot to protect God’s Word from being corrupted.

I think the description of the False Prophet and First Beast only applies to the very last days, when it becomes oppostional to God’s Word and people.

The first beast will be that man of lawlessness, Satan’s anti-messiah.

For the False Prophet shall make the entire world 🌍🌎 worship that man, the Antichrist (colloquialism).

There will be a worldwide 🌍 government. This is Daniel’s 4th best pictured in Daniel 7:23.

Blessings to you. For the time draws near (given the rapid pace of our days).
