AMERICA Prayer Vigil - (6/19/2020) [Prayer]

Lord God:

You know our every thought, in our heart, in our mind.
You know that it has become difficult to pray.
You know the doublemindedness that affects us here.

I pray first for “kings and all in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” Save, protect, bless, and help to do Your will all of the leaders and protectors of this our land, even those who are actually traitors, seditionists, globalists, thieves,liars, fornicators, murderers, etc., for such are we without You. Help us to FORGIVE them, Lord God.

Heavenly Father, you gave us the Psalms as a book of songs, of praise, of some lament, of remembrance of Your love and deeds, and of warfare.

Especially warfare. Thank you.

You set them up. There are 150 of them, and so it seemed good to read fiver per day. Dividing them into blocks of 30, attempting to read one of each block of thirty every day. The first day of the month, the 1st, 31st, 61st, 91st, and 121st Psalms, and so on, until on the 30th day of the month, reading the 30th,60th,90th,120th, and 150th. They appear to be set up for this, when one reads them this way, as the subjects often harmonise.

Today, Lord God, the 19th of the month, I read the 19th, 49th, 79th, 109th, and 139th Psalm.

Today, the 79th Psalm says what I desire for us all to say - not for Old Israel, as in this psalm, but applying it to our country, the United States of America. Thank You for Your words. Thank You for everything. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

A Psalm of Asaph.

1 O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.
2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
3 Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.
4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
5 How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
6 Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.
7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.
8 O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.
10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.
11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;
12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
13 So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.

Again, Lord God, thank you. Encourage us Your intercessors, as we attempt to obey You and be prayer warriors, dear God! In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Father in Heaven pull back the blanket of noise and fake news that dazzles us and distracts us from reality. Turn down the sound of the world until we can finally hear your voice. Help us find our way quickly through the confusing fog continually rising around us on all sides.

Bless us with discontent whenever we follow the wrong paths, or listen to the wrong people. Help us distinguish your voice from the mob, the wrong teachers, the false preachers.

Give us the courage to follow your voice through whiteout conditions swiftly and with confidence so that we can find you now, and stay beside you through the Storm.

Your Majesty, I humbly ask you to forgive our sins, the way we lead our lives for ourselves, the way we forget that you created us. Please forgive the countless times we refuse to trust you, and all the time we spend dwelling on our worries, wants, fears and plans as though we are writing the script for our lives instead of asking what you would have us do. Give us the strength to turn to you, to call your name, to push aside our pride and fear so that we claim the completeness of your love and forgiveness instead.

Thank you for granting us life and all that we have, for writing the love letter some call the Bible to us to help us through, for sending the Holy Spirit to comfort and advocate for us while we struggle, and for using all the pain in our lives for our own good. Thank you for hearing our frustration and accusations when we don't understand and yet, loving us still. Thank you for loving us enough to die on the cross for us even though you knew we usually would not understand, and would instead rage at you for our choices and the outcomes of a world broken with our own free will.

Nothing is hidden from you, everything is bright as day. Father, please shed your light on our path, be our beacon so that we can find our way through, even in the darkest times, when the Storm seems overwhelming, knowing that you are with us, will never forsake us, and will be there to catch us whenever we stumble, and that you will meet us with joy at the close of our lives, to begin our life anew, at last whole and complete, with you forever.

Help our unbelief. Help give us the words of encouragement to share with one another. Lead us to take up the Full Armor of God so that when the day comes, we can stand. Help us endure in faith and peace until the day we can see you face to face. I ask all these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Supporting the idea that the Holy Spirit within the church is the restrainer is the fact that the restrainer is referenced both as a thing (neuter gender, verse 6) and as a person (masculine gender, verse 7). Also, the power delaying Satan’s masterplan to unveil his false messiah must be of God. It makes much more sense to say that the Holy Spirit is curbing the devil than a political entity or even an angel. The Holy Spirit of God is the only Person with sufficient (supernatural) power to do this restraining.

Of course, the Spirit works through believers to accomplish this. The church, indwelt by the Spirit of God, has always been part of what holds society back from the swelling tide of lawless living. At some point, Paul says, the Spirit will “step aside” from His restraining work, allowing sin to have dominion over mankind. Second Thessalonians 2:7 can be literally rendered, “The secret of lawlessness is already working, only it cannot be revealed until he who now withholds disappears from the midst.” We believe this “disappearing from the midst” will happen at the time the church leaves the earth at the rapture. The Holy Spirit will still be present in the earth, of course, but He will be taken out of the way in the sense that His unique sin-restraining ministry—through God’s people—will be removed (see Genesis 6:3).

Second Thessalonians 2 is clear that the removal of the restrainer’s influence precedes the revealing of the Antichrist. Given free rein during the tribulation, the lawless one will “use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders” to deceive the people of the earth (verses 9–10). After the Antichrist’s time is up, the Lord Jesus will return and overthrow the man of sin by “the breath of his mouth and destroy [him] by the splendor of his coming” (verse 8). Evil is restrained right now; once the Church Age ends, the hindrance to evil will be removed, and the rebellion will seem to be winning; however, the ultimate doom of evil is sure.
