The attitudes of the women who attacked the original letter writer were about as Christian as their clothing choices. I do not understand people who do not show some respect and reverence when they go to church.

Most women wear leggings because they are comfortable, not because it’s sexy. But, unless a shirt/blouse hangs over their rear, it’s not appropriate for church.
VERY TRUE. = My beloved Darla is young, very beautiful & dresses modestly (though fashionably) at church, at work & everywhere else.
(It’s called being a LADY.)
ImVho, some of the so-called “modern fashions” for teenaged girls/women are nearly as revealing as going about in the nude.
(And they wonder WHY heterosexual men look at them??)

I wear leggings to church all the time, esp. in the winter because they are warm. My dress comes down to my knees and boots up to my knees. Not much left to the imagination, except 60+ year old swollen knees.
I teach my boys not to have anything to do with women who dress immodestly. Chances are if they dont respect themselves, they certainly won’t respect their future husbands.
We only go to traditional masses, so it’s not an issue for us. As a general rule the priest is the one that has a discussion with someone dressed immodestly, as he is the one responsible for the decorum in the chapel.
Having said that, most novus ordo priests seem to be so spineless on this issue (with good reason as their Bishop will not back them up) that I could see how this woman would feel frustrated and speak out. My advice, if your pastor won’t man up and deal with it despite your pleading, then change to another parish/chapel. If that’s not possible- then “make a mess!” :).
Church, restaurants, etc, people apparently don't care what they look like anymore. Business attire no longer means wearing a tie. Pretty son men can wear shorts and sandals to work.

Nothing wrong with that at all. That's basically like women and girls wearing tights or heavy hose under their dresses. My wife no longer wears leggings; but when she did, she always had on a long top. They used to sell them that way as outfits.
I have always felt that people should make an effort to look nice at Church. Remember the old southern phrase "your Sunday-go-to-meetin'-clothes"? During cooler months, I always wear a tie and blazer. During the summer it is too hot for that, but I always wear dress slacks and a long-sleeved dress shirt.

I can’t imagine wearing anything but a dress or skirt in church — even if just cleaning, practicing music, etc. It’s church.
The garments have been around for decades with zero complaints.
Well, until women quit wearing them under their skirts, and just wore them sans skirts.

People on Twitter who don’t go to church are often the loudest and telling the rest of us how to have church. :)
I work in a pretty casual office, and am the last holdout who wears pants (dress pants or khakis - not jeans) and a long-sleeved dress shirt (shirt-tail tucked in) to work. Everybody else wears short-sleeved polos, often with the shirt-tail out and often with jeans. I only dress that way on the weekend when I'm running errands.
If I ever meet the guy who invented those, I’m going to shake his hand.
A lot depends on whether you're "client facing" or have clients in the office.
I’m a buyer, and often have people in the office trying to sell me stuff.
