He’s the first one in the door of churches....wolves in the sheep pen. The problem is the church was intended for ‘believers’ not unbelievers. Christians were called to “Go out” not bring them into the fold unconverted.....
Well you are right. Sex is for procreation but it is designed for pleasure to insure that happens. It is a joy in the marital bond. We all understand that the drive is well beyond procreation. That was designed in on all humans but not for mentally ill sexual deviates.

If this pastor had simply stopped short of endorsing gay marriage—thereby remaining Biblical—while accepting gay sinners into the church, just like any sinner is accepted into church membership—that would have been sufficient, and remained fully within the constraints of traditional and historically valid Christian doctrine.
Instead, by formally endorsing gay marriage, he substituted man's false teachings, with a completely predictable result—the moral and spiritual decay of the congregation.

I've not seen anyone use a number that low - that is usually considered a large church, not a megachurch. The most common definition I've seen is 2000 average weekly attendance. I wouldn't agree with their theology, but these folks have done a lot of work on the subject: http://hirr.hartsem.edu/megachurch/definition.html
Presbys had a lot of options; not nearly as many for the UMC folks. The UMC has also benefited from a large African membership that’s held them from the worst excesses of the ECUSA and PCUSA.

Don’t hold your breath. Most young parents today are pro-homo special rights, pro-”marriage equality”, pro-”what makes you feel good is right”, anything and everything situational ethics and not Christian tradition. Socially conservative young parents are 20% at most.
I did consider signing up all the students in the local elementary school for NAMBLA
could you just imagine the parents reaction when NAMBLA literature shows up in their mailbox addressed to their CHILD!!!?
You would think they would have learned the lesson from the mainstream denominations.

(Check this video and story I found from a few years ago, when that pastor announced their new policy -- check especially from the 44:40 minute mark onward in the youtube video -- and particularly assess his emotional outbursts, (even "despairing of life" at some point), which seem to indicate some kind of personal involvement angle, whether pertaining to himself, or to some family member or friend, or someone else close to the pastor.)

I think Satan’s purpose of introducing acceptable sin into churches is to kill off Christianity. It is not all that easy to find real churches anymore.
