I very often think of Thomas’ words, “My Lord and my God!”

23rd Psalm, and I have to confess that I prefer the King James rendition.

5. I am with you always, to the close of the age.
I always wonder what the preterist’s view is regarding versus like this. Since they believe Jesus already made his 2nd coming appearance and the close of the age already happened, do they think He is no longer with us? That’s a sad way to go through life.

Jesus answered, My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom did belong to this world, my attendants [would] be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not here. John 18:36
Trust in the Lord. I am more worried about those that are more concerned with the ways of this world.

We should never be surprised that the world is evil. When the 23rd Psalm talks about the valley of the shadow of death, it really describes the whole world.

I don’t have a verse but a thought about what advice Noah get when told of the coming flood. “Build a bigger boat”.
Regarding our enemies, I like “Slay the Amalekites”.
I’m old Testament since my people wrote it and my son, a combat veteran of Iraq (he went past Babylon and Ur), is named Joshua.
King Solomon and David also had some very encouraging sayings about life.
Perhaps the one I like the most is the simple command “Do good deeds”.

Psalms 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
I like the paraphrase of these verses that reads,
The Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need....

The Bible speaks several times of "birth pangs". It says men will be holding their loins at something everyone can see. IMO, it will be something on the order of an asteroid coming toward earth. Maybe an atomic warhead, but the whole world wouldn't be affected. Whatever it is will be for everyone. The comfort a Christian has is we will be removed before this happens. We will leave on some Feast of Trumpets in the future. Thursday and Friday is Trumpets this year. This year is also a Jubilee year. On the 21st, the UN will proclaim "International Peace and Safety Day". The sign in Rev 12 is in the sky right now. If it gets dark at noon Thursday or Friday, we will know. Amos 8:9 speaks of this. If you are not a foolish virgin, everything will work out. Luke 21:34-36. There is more to not being left behind than most Christians are taught. The only church in Rev 2-3 that is guaranteed to be Raptured is Philadelphia. The rest will be left behind. Salvation and Rapture are 2 different things.
Love God and love your neighbor. It will work out.
