Sodom's Fruit (King James Bible Discussion)

Welcome!

To The King James Bible Discussion Thread

Where we don't change God's Word, His Word changes us.

TOPICS: General Discusssion; Moral Issues
KEYWORDS: kjb; preservedword
I was reading a thread this morning that got pulled for whatever reason, but the discussion got me to thinking of what one of the more popular emerged Church Pastors told the sodomites a while ago. This Pastor told them, "You're our brethren!" and whether he knew it or not, he did "strengthen also the hands of evildoers." This Pastor was telling them without any doubt that it was o.k for them to sodomize each other. Whenever a Pastor won't tell the truth to those who have what the Bible calls, "inordinate affection" or not ordinary affection, that Pastor is strengthening the hands of evildoers. The best way for Pastors to preach the Gospel is to preach it in a way that people will turn from their wickedness. That is loving them, that is true compassion and truly caring about them. When a Pastor won't preach it and warn the evildoers, there may be a fleshy reason for it.

Matthew 5:28
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

2 Peter 2:14
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

No one needs to know what is going on in someone else's private life because the Bible tells us quite plainly. God's preserved word pulls back the curtain and gives Bible Believing Christians a glimpse into how evil works. How does the devil get a Pastor to not preach truth? He first gets him to start looking at the well-watered plains of Sodom and then encourages him to pitch his tent in that direction. No Bible believing Christian has to admit what goes on in their private life to realize which direction Sodom lay, we all know where it is. Don't be fooled Sodom is not just homosexuality.

Ezekiel 16:49
Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

Christians, but Pastors especially must be honest with themselves, there are times when we start to look toward Sodom and when that happens we tell ourselves, "I'll never go there!" but the devil will vex our flesh with, "the grass sure looks nice over there." We must be very careful to not look in the direction of Sodom, to not pitch our tent toward Sodom because if we do it may not be long before we have our house near the gates of Sodom. At that point we are no longer out there in the well-watered plains feeding our sheep, but we are living where that Pastor I mentioned earlier is living, in Sodom strengthening the hands of the evildoers.

Great post. The timely Jeremiah passage quoted, your tag line: “The Gospel doesn’t promise the American dream, it promises Eternal life in the Kingdom of God,” and the still very much relevant KJV Bible - and the Textus Receptus Greek majority text its NT is based on.

For years we have been reminded of something that Ruth Graham (the late wife of Billy) said.

“If God does not judge America soon . . . He is going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Now, while I doubt that Ruth speaks for God, or knows His mind in this issue - there is certainly a point where the United States has gone beyond even that which the sodomite community was comfortable with.

Just do a search for something as innocuous as “Little Red Riding Hood” and see how many porn sites come up. (Not really suggesting the brethren do this) But if it were not difficult enough for a teen with raging hormones to live a godly and separated life - the temptation to sin is ever before him or her.

We are reminded that our Lord will return when the days are as were those of Sodom . . .

“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed” (Luke 17:28-30).

Wholesale wickedness . . .

“If God does not judge America soon . . . He is going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Yeah and that's the sad part, the sodomites will not stop their evil until America is a flaming ash heap.

Actually, the KJV is God’s Word preserved, for you and me and all who care to drink from it’s sixty-six wells of Salvation.
