Just as adding weight to a pendulum makes it run slower; our Earth is ‘slowing’ as we add tons of space dust to the mass of the earth every day!
But, as you’ll note if you click this link, the Earth is NOT getting heavier; even though...
Isn't it strange that NO culture has ever had anything different?
7 days is IT!
Deeply embedded in our ancient past is the echo of GOD's creation timeframe.
Well; the NIV says...
John 1:35-42
35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples.
36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, Look, the Lamb of God!37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. 38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, What do you want?
They said, Rabbi (which means Teacher), where are you staying?
39 Come, he replied, and you will see.
So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.
40 Andrew, Simon Peters brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, We have found the Messiah (that is, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus.
YMMV!
King James Bible
He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
Holman Christian Standard Bible
"Come and you'll see," He replied. So they went and saw where He was staying, and they stayed with Him that day. It was about 10 in the morning. WHAT??
International Standard Version
He told them, "Come and see!" So they went and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day. It was about four o'clock in the afternoon.
On a sundial; you'll see no 'hours' until the sun comes up with 6 being the earliest. Forgetting the nomenclature, if you COUNT the hours to the TENTH one, it'll be about 4 in the after noon: 6 of them in the AM and 4 in the PM.
Amen!
Well; at least it DOCUMENTS the Source... ;^)
Bingo!
Not quite.
They listen to the radio signal that tells them what 'time' it is.
The radio signal is slaved to the clock that is kept at the Naval Observatory.
The astronomers determine when the earth has moved enough for a second to be inserted (or deleted).
(Aren't you glad you ASKED??)
How do people tell time in Indiana?
Parrothead from way back.
“Deeply embedded in our ancient past is the echo of GOD’s creation timeframe.”
Yes, it’s quite amazing actually.
Don’t most ‘creation’ stories, from various cultures around the world, mention a FLOOD?
How does evolution explain the differences in language groups found in the world?
