I never went that deep.I never looked back at that movie. Some you take personal and I was pregnant with my 4th child.I almost lost her in the 4th month and the Doctor asked me if I had any other children. What the hell does that mean your going to lose your child and they put a cheater movie with the wife pregnant. She was born fine. Thanks for your comments.

I don’t blame you for not looking back.

Not one thing romantic at all about it.

I would probably get mad every time I heard one bar of that maddening song.

I’m sorry you went through so much.

Some things can hurt forever.

My most favorite movie of all time. Have watched it over 15 times since 1965.

I hated that also, it seemed to be glorifying adultery.

It may be hard for many to understand, but even though he was anti-Soviet, he was always passionately Russian. Any honest nation should be proud to claim his as their countryman. Just shows how messed up the USSR was.

I didn’t approve of its glorification of adultery.

I've read parts of the novel. (As Russian novels often are, it's pretty long and ponderous.)

The Yuri Zhivago in the book is pretty clearly anti-Soviet, more so than in the movie. The book goes into some detail about how thoroughly Yuri hates the commander of the Red partisan band that impressed him into service, how the commander would badger him about politics late at night, etc.

“After my first viewing of the movie, I thought Julie Christie was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen.”

Yup! I was age 16 at the time. It was not just lust, I and many males just flat-out fell in love with her character, her portrayal of the role was so powerful and appealing.
