I said that “it”—i.e., conscience—is not some special, magical, mystical voice of God. I said this because “conscience,” i.e., the intellect, is standard, natural equipment for a human being.

I never said that God does not or cannot speak to people.

As I said, you are blinded by seething hate. It destroys your ability to apply your eyes to the screen and SEE WHAT IS THERE.

Or, the seething hate induces you to engage in gross intellectual dishonesty.

You need to do something about the boiling hate.

Once baptized as a Catholic, a person is juridically a Catholic forever, unless he leaves the Catholic Church by a formal act. A person who judges for himself that the Catholic Church teaches error—e.g., about what is and is not a sin—is no longer a practicing Catholic.

So, is this Austrian bishop no longer a practicing Catholic? I am so confused by all the different rules.

Seething hate? ... Wow, what a hypocritical accusation coming from a Priest who claims there are people on FR who hate Mary the Mother of Jesus!

“Juridically” means “in the view of the law.”

For example, if a person is baptized Catholic, and then leaves the Church by a formal act, he is no longer bound by the Church’s laws. He is not legally required to attend Mass on Sunday. He is not bound by the Church’s law against marrying a non-Catholic, or the law requiring marriage before a priest.

A Catholic who doesn’t attend Mass, or marries without the presence of a priest, or who marries a non-Catholic, or who disbelieves some dogma of the Faith, or obstinately promotes a grave evil (e.g., abortion) is not a practicing Catholic, but he is bound by the Church’s laws. For instance, his marriage is invalid. He commits a mortal sin when he misses Sunday Mass.

The evidence of her seething hate is right in front of your eyes. She reads my posts, and then excises a highly relevant sentence when she cuts and pastes—pretending that I contradicted myself when I didn’t.

Either her reading comprehension is impaired by her rage, or her rage tempts her, successfully, to be intellectually dishonest.

If you are reading tone of voice or intent into simple printed words, then you are either projecting or maligning.

You have no basis for deciding what motivates anyone to write what they wrote nor the tone in which it is presented.

To attack someone’s character based on what you think is motivating them, however, is generally projection because you can’t read minds. You can only read words and try to decide what’s behind them.

You typed that you’d not accept ANYTHING he says in the future.

That is pre-judging.

I see you still have the ability to re-arrange words on a page.

I see you still have the inability to arrange words on a page.

You’re so filled with hate—specifically, anti-Catholic hate—you are constantly itching for some kind of spat.

Catholics supposedly read the bible, and then excise a highly relevant sentence when ...

Call no man father.
