According to the Chicago Tribune (not fake news), more than 700 people have been killed in gang and drug-related violence this year in Chicago.
So who's Father Michael Pfleger choosing to ridicule?
President-elect Donald Trump.
From Father Pfleger's public Facebook page:
(see comment below to view the page)
(He's also accused the police of genocide, mind you.)
You see, in Father Pfleger's world, it's play a little basketball with gang members who have turned the streets of Chicago into a war zone, but blame the GOP and police for America's problems.
And the Trump street sign horror of horrors! was causing so much, er, violence and bloodshed that city officials just had to take it down, no?
It might be easy for some to dismiss the priest-activist as a grandstander who no one listens to, but, in addition to being the pastor of a large Catholic parish, he's a darling of the mainstream media. And he has over 100,000 "likes" at his Facebook page.
Then there's Father Jose Landaverde.
From the Chicago Sun-Times (not fake news): 'In the last year, Donald Trump brought a lot of hate against immigrants and Latinos around the country,' [Landaverde] says....
Landaverde, as well-known for his tactics on immigration as the Rev. Michael Pfleger is for his against violence, is defiant.
'It is totally impossible that Donald Trump will come to our beautiful city of Chicago and take away our rights,' he says. 'We are talking about a safe place for those who are suffering. Many of us, we will die to keep the city as it is.'
Father Landaverde "will die to keep the city as it is"? Really?
Again, more than 700 people have been killed in gang and drug-related violence this year in Chicago.
That is Chicago "as it is." Not exactly "a safe place."
One thing is certain: leftist love doesn't trump (ahem) leftist hate in blood-soaked Chicago.
The Vatican Swamp needs more draino.
Just like the US, the people are what matter.
We voted majority for Trump even WITH Hispanic Catholics weighing us down.
I am quite happy about the state of mind of a majority of Catholics.
Just like we are good people with an IDIOT president!!!
Not for long :)

“...in addition to being the pastor of a large Catholic parish, he’s a darling of the mainstream media.”
Yeah, he’s a darling of the mainstream media - that fact alone should reveal he is CINO...
And when the radical priest
come to get me released
we’s all on the cover of Newsweek.
“Many of us, we will die to keep the city as it is.’”
Your terms are acceptable.
Pfleger is a certifiable nutcase. Chicago has a few of these Marxist, liberation theology clowns in clerical garb including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright (he’s been all over the religious, ideological landscape, always on the Left) and the late Rev. William Hogan (CALC - Clergy and Laity Concerned), who eventually cam out of the clerical closet and joined the Communist Party USA.
Then there was Obama’s neighbor and leftist dupe Rabbi Arnold Jacobs. The CPUSA loved this clown because he gave them cover in their front the Chicago Committee to Defend the Bill of Rights and its other united front, the “Alliance to Defend Freedom”.
There was also a Rabbi Marx (appropriate last name); Rev. Louis Farrakhan (and his Mother Ship); Rev. Jesse Jackson Jr.; Rev. Al Sharpton (He moves to wherever there is a free buffet), and a few other lefties.
No wonder the city is in the shits. There are no sane leaders there.
Really?
I stopped reading at “Michael Pfleger”
This guy is a joke and should have been defrocked years ago.
Pfleger is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. A false teacher in the church and a communist. He is both an enemy of the cross and the Republic.
The catholic church has become just another marxist organization, just like the mainstream protestant churches. No more carrying the light of truth. It is as atheistic as the others. Thanks to this pope and the priests/bishops who don’t have the balls to say a word in protest.
Did you happen to catch “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” on EWTN, a film bio on Alinsky in Chicago and became well connected with the Bishop? Father Mitch Pacwa gave his own testimonial on Chicago and Marxist tactics.
It was so informativeb, for me, that I ordered the DVD. Also, it made me wonder about the communists who were repoertedly swept into our American seminaries some time ago.
Pfleger is an idiot.
Which bishop?
It’s easy to complain of hate or “hate” when you won’t ever put any love into the situation.
Here’s a project for the Roman Catholics of Chicago (really I’d say all Christendom of Chicago, but those who complain really highlight their own shortcomings): start visiting those jails and show them the spirit of God the Son. That ought to start helping the 90% or so of habitual criminals who are super mama’s boys always trying in vain to prove their manliness.
Bishop Sheil starting around 1938/1939. Cardinal Cody kicked the organization (which was at the time being run in the Chancellery office by Father Egan) out in 1968, but they went to Notre Dame.
FYI the Catholic Campaign for Human Development had close ties and sent funds to Alinsky’s group.
“Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” is a good documentary. What surprised me was that they named names (including bishops and other prelates). I’m pleasantly surprised they haven’t gotten “a call” yet to stop selling it.
True Manliness involves fasting, prayer, and penance. Best place to find that is in the traditional parishes. I do agree with you that visiting prisoners is a part of the requirement of Charity- Mathew 25:36.
Many thanks for the info.
