Doctrine was important 499 years ago and still is important. Catholics are confessional lutehrans are still light years away on justification and sanctification.

“The Catholic Church has insisted that regular sharing of the Eucharist will be possible only when divided Christians have attained full unity.”

He wants everyone to be Lutherans and adopt Lutheran doctrines. How nice.

Gives a 45 minute address to a Joint Session of Congress.......

Talks about "climate change", "refugee rights", and "economic justice."

Never mentions the Gospel of Jesus Christ once.

Fine words. I am still not joining in phony kumbaya syncretism and unionism with them.

Hi.

You know I’m a Catholic...

“Never mentions the Gospel of Jesus Christ once.”

Not once. I was stunned.

500 years and the Pope is still trying to tell the Lutherans what to do.

The goal of the anti Christ spirit is a one world government and a one world religion. This is a promotion of the one world religion, also know as Babylon, which gets turned on and annihilated later under the anti Christ. This pope just might be the false prophet.

Can you impeach a Pope?

We Catholics ignore him. If you are Lutheran (or even if you are not), so should you. When he is dead, the next Conclave won’t repeat the horrible mistake of electing anything like Frankie.

“500 years and the Pope is still trying to tell the Lutherans what to do.”

I know what you mean. Instead, he should be telling lutherans where to go.

Regrettably there is no known method of impeachment. He has compromised health and advanced age as his only positive qualities. God will fire him when the time comes.

Ok.

But there are still things we disagree on. You can’t paper over them.

And he is talking to the woman priest, homo loving, churches. They often don’t believe in the Incarnation.

I agree; these meetings are exercises in futility. The differences between Catholicism and Protestants are too wide to bridge.

The most appropriate way to mark the anniversary, they [Pope Francis and the Vatican] said, was with common prayer and renewed commitments to working together to help the poor and promote justice.

Hey Comrade Frankie -- how about a "renewed commitment to HELP PROMOTE THE GOSPEL"??

An argument could be made the differences between roman catholicism and Christianity are too wide to bridge.

There is a difference.

For a direct link to the “joint declaration”:

http://press.vatican.va/content/salastampa/it/bollettino/pubblico/2016/10/31/0783/01757.html#orig

Read it and then read this encyclical from a true and Catholic pope:

Possibly, but when Lutherans celebrate their female/gay ministers and divorces it is find to see any Christianity left there. Which do you think Christ would recognize?
