Survey Finds Most American Christians Are Actually Heretics
The Federalist ^ | OCTOBER 10, 2016 | G. Shane Morris

Evangelicals Didn’t Even Study for This Test

...this year, LifeWay used more stringent criteria for evangelical faith, as defined by some group called the National Association of Evangelicals. Only participants who called the Bible their highest authority, said personal evangelism is important, and indicated that trusting in Jesus’ death on the cross is the only way of salvation, were labeled “evangelical.” They totaled 586 survey-takers.

Everyone expected them to perform better than most Americans. No one expected them to perform worse. Seven in ten evangelicals—more than the population at large—said that Jesus was the first being God created. Fifty-six percent agreed that “the Holy Spirit is a divine force but not a personal being.” They also saw a huge increase in evangelicals (28 percent, up from 9 percent) who indicated that the Third Person of the Trinity is not equal with God the Father or Jesus, a direct contradiction of orthodox Christianity.

As before, it’s really the contradictory answers, not the outright heresies, that should most concern us. By definition, the evangelicals in this survey believed that “only those who trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Savior receive God’s free gift of eternal salvation.” Yet nearly half agreed that “God accepts the worship of all religions including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.”

Former Newsday religion reporter Kenneth Briggs recently told Religion News Service that the faith he finds in “mega-type churches” is a “Bible-less,” “alternative version of Christianity.” Scripture, he says, has become “a museum exhibit, hallowed as a treasure but enigmatic and untouched.”

I insist that the Holy Spirit is perfect, and furthermore that God did not and would not work hand in hand with Satan to deceive people for eighteen hundred years by including error in Scripture.

HMMMmmm...

Strange that very early scrolls of 'scripture' differ from one another in various places; thus modern scholars must CHOOSE between what is 'correct' to begin their translation process.

Tell me once again how GOD allowed THIS to happen?

Whosoever defends the perfection all three members of the Holy Trinity is not Christian.

The problem is these "scholars" didn't just update the LANGUAGE. Wherever the KJV said things they didn't approve of, all the NWO bible translators change the meaning of the text. They did this by adding to or deleting from the preserved word.

I mean come on, do you really not think that a person like this, would not have a hidden agenda in translating certain doctrines about sodomy, found in God's preserved word?

Take it up with boatbums.

She's the author of that argument that anyone who defends the perfection of the Holy Spirit doesn't even know what Christian means.

Or is denying the Trinity (one God in three persons, all equally perfect, all one God) now all the rage among the anti-Catholic crew?

Sorry, I don't buy your "verbage and style" argument. The NWO translators have an obvious agenda, and that agenda is leading many unaware people right into the arms of anti-christ.

With the all the NWO bibles people are using today, when the beast makes his appearance, many people will fall for his lies, because just like the Jews in the days of Jesus, they won't recognize the truth. They will choose Barabbas, over Jesus Christ.

There is a flood coming to this world, a flood of evil like nothing that has ever been seen before, or will ever be seen again.I hope you're prepared Spiritually

Get off the lesbian/NIV thing, you have been shown that it has been corrected!

Are you like a liberal, not able to learn, more interested in an agenda than the truth?

If you are going to constantly refer to this, refer to the correction ALSO. Get the whole truth.

I must of missed that reply to me, what post number was it? I'll take a look at it.

But just the fact that you tell me it had to be corrected, proves to me the NIV (Not Inspired Version) is NOT God's Word.

Regarding your Hosea 11:12 reference and assuming we are willing to learn, here is the King James word reference for the word “rule”.

H7300

rood

A primitive root; to tramp about, that is, ramble (free or disconsolate): - have the dominion, be lord, mourn, rule.
Total KJV occurrences: 4

So, we discover there is a lot of flavor to the original word.

In the big picture, we know that Judah was no better than Israel, but maybe at that moment they were a little better. But we do know that God chose Judah at that moment as His instrument as IMPERFECT and REBELLIOUS as Judah also was.

Judah was still tramping about, I like that image and sadly, it applies to me too often.

So again, it is NOT one or the other, but God using both to get us a little closer to His truth. I thank you for the morning edification.

So God does not correct? God does not discipline?

Which version of King James is the correct one? Modern King James, New King James, etc.

Did God correct David, Saul, the disciples and use them?

Regarding your Rev 13:16 reference:

Of all the things to focus on in that verse (and the ones before and after) , your eyes go to “in” vs “on”?

Mat 23:24 Blind guides who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

This is the essence of Gnosticism and heretics. They have special knowledge and know more than others. But their special knowledge is worthless and only to bring them glory, not to further the Kingdom.

Let him who has ears, hear..................

Again, I thank you for the edification this morning.

I'll be more than happy to answer your questions, just as soon as you show me the post number where you said I'v been shown the correction. If you can do that one simple thing, we can continue our discussion. If not than buzz off, because you have already shown that you're just a trouble make.

Not interested in truth.

Post number 108.

I have argued your points at one time. Being right was more important than getting what I really needed, a relationship with God. Pride is a terrible thing.

It will take ears to hear, a very common statement of Jesus. But “ears” are not of your own doing but a gift. It is one of the things that will be given, if you ask for it.

Luk 24:45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

Yes, I know it says “mind”, but I will let you do your own due diligence on “ears”.

Praying “to” is a word to indicate sending prayers toward in hopes she will intercede - it is not worshiping.

I have “chewed” the question “Who do I pray to, the Father, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit?” I reference the following.

Mat_6:6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

1Pe_1:17 And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of Him during your time as “foreigners in the land.”

Luk 11:1 Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As He finished, one of His disciples came to Him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

Luk 11:2 Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may Your name be kept holy. May Your Kingdom come soon.

But my big question is why would one pray to Mary or a saint, when God the Father invites you into a direct intimate relationship with Him?

I repeat the question: Why would one pray to Mary or a saint, when God the Father invites you into a direct intimate relationship with Him?

Thank you for giving me the post number, like I said, I missed that one.

Now, let's deal with it, I will go ahead a grant to you that these changes have been made. (But again the fact that they had to make the changes, tells me were not dealing with people who were truly serious or really cared about God's word in the first place. That's why I call it the Not Inspired Version). But what about the other 64,000 words that have been deleted from the text? For example, the word hell was removed from the Old Testament in the NIV and replaced with the word hades, did you know that according to Greek Myth, hades has rivers flowing through it, and there are some not so bad places in hades.

Does that sound like the hell described in the New Testament? If not then why, do you think the word hell was taken out, and replaced with the word hades?

Ask 50 random people if they have heard of hell, and can they describe it to you, then ask the same 50 if they heard of hades, and have them describe it to you.

What kind of answers to you think you'll get?
