Funny. I was expecting something like “Mississippi Squirrel Revival”, but this is pretty good, too.

Looking forward to a Lutheran Satire video that will feature Jar Jar Binks. There are many satires where he could fit in. ;-)

People mock what they don’t understand. I didn’t see the video, anticipating such a thing.

OK, here goes,....What language did Adam speak in the garden? Zoom on up to the Tower of Babel. Gen 11:6..." And the Lord said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them." This language they spoke gave them power to get what they wanted. Now move up to Zeph 3:9 "For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, That they all may call on the name of the Lord, To serve Him with one accord. That is the prophesy of "RESTORING" this pure language. Then we go to Acts 2 when tongues were restored. Now move to Mark 16:17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;".

Now there is much more, but the verse in Mark was written in red in my Bible. Jesus was speaking about true believers. Just because you don't speak in tongues doesn't mean there is no tongues. It says here you just don't believe. Paul definitely spoke in tongues. Was he a charlatan? If God is unchanging, what changed? The Bible says it's a gift of the Spirit. Did you NOT receive the gifts when you were Baptized? Acts 19:1-7 describes Paul giving the Baptism in the Spirit to brothers that were baptized in water only. What were they missing. Wasn't water good enough? Could there be a reason many don't have answered prayer? Do they lack the power given in Acts 2? Are they having whatever they proposed withheld from them, as in the Tower verse?

There are people who desire everything God has to offer and others that don't. Who are the foolish virgins spoken of in Mat 25? "Virgins" speaks of church members, but some are left behind where they buy and sell. Acts 2 tells of receiving POWER from the Holy Spirit. Were the Apostles "saved" in Acts 1? If Acts 2 never happened, would they have power to do the rest of the Bible? Tongues is a sign of the Holy Spirit. Scripture calls it "evidence". If you don't have tongues, do you have any of the other gifts? Why wouldn't you want everything God has for you? Are you "lukewarm"?

There is much more, but until you answer these few questions, I'm casting pearls before swine. Many will read this and continue to laugh and make jokes. But the real question is why make jokes about things you know nothing about? Why not be worried that there may be more that I don't have rather than saying we are crazy? Many of the parables speak of unprofitable servants. Could that refer to people with no power to do works in the Kingdom?

One more passage:....Luk 11:9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Luk 11:10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Luk 11:11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Luk 11:12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

Luk 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

Jesus is CLEARLY speaking of Spiritual gifts. Ask and you will receive. Serpents, and scorpions speaks of demons. God will not give a demon if you ask for more of Him. I challenge you to ask and see if He doesn't give you the desires of your heart. If, of course your heart really desires more of Him. BTW, if you go to someone who doesn't have the HS, you probably won't get it because he doesn't have it.

One more thing, I'm not saying the foolish virgins weren't saved or the disobedient servants aren't saved. Going to Heaven and the Rapture are 2 different things. As we see in Revelation, there are saved people beheaded under the altar crying out to God for revenge. The letters to the churches in Rev 2-3 speak of the trials to come on the churches. There is one, however with a promise different than the others. The church at Philadelphia is promised the Rapture in Rev 3:10. No one else is promised that. There will be many church members left behind to face the Beast. All you have to do to be saved is confess Jesus with your mouth as Savior. Doing His commandments is something entirely different. His command was to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. That is the heart of the church of brotherly love at Philadelphia. You can give up your life now for Jesus, or wait to meet the Beast and literally give your life for Him. If you save your life, you will lose it, and lose it to save it. If you are living your life for Him now, you will go to meet Him in the air, BEFORE the beast forces his mark on people. If you have the HS, you are already marked for God, just as the 144K were marked. Is there any evidence you have the Holy Spirit? You shouldn't have to tell people you are Christian.

PS.What was the unforgivable sin? Jesus had just cast out a demon and the Pharisees said the devil was in Jesus. Jesus said that would NOT be forgiven in this life or the next. When you say people speaking in tongues, or prophesying, or healing, ect, is from the devil, that will NOT be forgiven.

Just sayin.

[What’s also evil, is FAKING the gifts of the Spirit.]

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit . . . Do not quench the Spirit . . . Insulting the Spirit of grace (Ephesians 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 5:19, Hebrews 10:29).

Mocking the HOLY LANGUAGE of TONGUES is evil.

Scripture never calls what's practiced as speaking in tongues today as a *holy language of tongues*.

What was spoken on the day of Pentecost was KNOWN languages. And they were listed for anyone who has any doubt about it.

And tongues were a sign for Israel and unbelievers. They are not a sign for believers.

Then why is everyone’s *gift* of tongues different from everyone else’s?

If it was all one language, then all the tongues speaking should sound the same and be the same and should be able to be identified as a language with grammar and syntax and a vocabulary.

And I have yet to see that.

The *virgins* are not church age believers. They are at the wedding of the Lamb.

Church age believers are the Bride of Christ. We're the one getting married.

I still am not sure who the virgins are, but since the church, the BRIDE of Christ is the one being married in the wedding, then the virgins are not the church.

So your whole speculation falls apart.

The Holy Spirit gives the gifts to each as *HE* wills, not as we will.

Also, show us where in Scripture that tongues is called the "evidence" as you state, even putting it in quotes. Chapter and verses please.

We are not admonished to seek after tongues. On the contrary, we are told to desire the greater gifts (tongues is the least) and to seek rather to prophesy rather than speak in tongues.

And for this reason, much of the Pentecostal movement and speaking in tongues can be determined to be fake, because it does NOT line up with Scripture.

What it teaches is contrary to what Paul taught in 1 Corinthians 12 and 14.

So why are you so focused on the gifts of the Spirit and not the FRUIT of the Spirit?

You don’t even mention that.

I believe I myself have made this point (or part of it). The "why does everyone sound different?" can be explained, by the smart a** Pentecostal anyway, as "Because they're all speaking different African languages!" The better part to focus on is that the languages have no relationship whatsoever with what language is. There is no grammar, no syntax, no vocabulary. I can also attest that a person who is faking tongues can also have their tongues "interpreted" in a church, as if genuine. They have no discernment.

It is a prayer language that even Satan cannot understand. Do you not believe God understands every language across the world? It is His Spirit speaking to God the Father through the surrender of my tongue. He can understand the “groaning’s” of my heart. He knows what to pray before I do. There are more, but you will only take what you want and reject the other.

Yes, I do, which is exactly why the reason why praying in tongues is completely unnecessary.

It is His Spirit speaking to God the Father through the surrender of my tongue.

Chapter and verse?

He can understand the “groaning’s” of my heart. He knows what to pray before I do. There are more, but you will only take what you want and reject the other.

Physician heal thyself.

You are doing the very thing you accuse others of.

Typical knee jerk response to someone who points out the unscriptural practice of tongues as it is done today in Pentecostalism. If God hears the groanings of your heart, then there's no need for what Pentecostals say tongues is about, is there?

And if the groanings are too deep to be expressed, then what the heck are the sounds coming out of people's mouths, that are being expressed? Because that's exactly what it happening. They are expressing .... something, by verbalizing it.

If the groanings are too deep for words to express, then tongues, which presumably contains words, can't express it either.
