Gay pastor agrees to leave her post at Johnson County church
Kansas City Star ^ | Donald Bradley

Posted on 08/20/2016 5:30:42 AM PDT by Gamecock

On a cold Sunday in January, Cynthia Meyer, pastor at Edgerton United Methodist Church, came out to her congregation.

She did so with hope that change regarding the denomination’s stance on homosexuality was coming. But eight months later, that hope, for now at least, is gone. And after the end of August, Meyer will be gone as well.

To avoid a church trial, Meyer and Methodist officials agreed that she would give up her duties and go on involuntary leave. Her final sermon in Edgerton in Johnson County will be Aug. 28.

Lot of interesting points here. Question: how do sexual sins effect brain chemistry?

Perhaps she and others at the church should have consulted Scripture upon her hiring.

How does she get to deliver another sermon?

There was a place in my college town called The United Church. It was a mixture of three mainline denominations. One Sunday morning, I was listening to the radio. Their Sunday service was on and they were welcoming new members.

It went something like this: John Smith is welcomed as a Methodist. Sally Thomas is welcomed as an Episcopalian...

That’s all I knew or needed to know about that place.

Sex affects brain chemistry.

Lets loose all sorts of chemicals that can amount to a sort of high.

The associations we make with those experiences apparently help to determine when they occur again.

If someone has a fetish without which they may not experience this then their own brain is working against them.

God created our brains to work this way just as He gave us a context within which it might both serve His purposes and benefit us and our marriage relationship.

But when someone supplants His order for another this self same irrational system of brain chemistry is hijacked.

So sexuality, which can be holy in the right context, when coupled with sexual sin creates a sort of conditioning that reinforces itself.

I’m hoping I expressed the thought with adequate clarity.

I went to a tag sale at one of these churches, and I saw a sign on the wall in the area where kids take classes that said:

“Nobody can tell you what is right or wrong. You must decide that on your own.”

I was flabbergasted. I just stood and stared at it. I think if you wanted to impart long reaching and deep damage on a child, that is what you would tell them.

Not only did they allow her to deliver 8 months of sermons but also a year’s salary.

How long has she been preaching in that church? Didn’t they suspect a long time ago? She oozes lesbian off the computer screen. Whomever hired her did as lousy a job (or was it intentional?) at vetting her as the US voters did our Terrorist in Chief. Neither was fit for the job and the employer knew it ahead of time.

And notice how God's Law is called "denomination's stance."

They do this kind of verbal jiu-jitsu to Catholics, too. "The 'Vatican's position' is still that homosexual acts are gravely depraved."

No, it’s perfectly clear. Similar effects are shown from drugs, porn, and junk food in the brain as well. Basically, getting some sort of high triggers almost the same effect in the brain for behaviors across the board.

In short: dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin.

Any sexual stimulus causes the release of brain chemicals which can affect not only brain physiology (function) but under some circumstances, even brain anatomy (the physical structure of the brain)--- if the sexual influence starts early in life.

Some of that info is here (LINK)

Bottom line: sexual stimulation is like an addictive drug (I'm not speaking metaphorically here, I'm speaking physiologically). It causes measurable chemical changes in the pleasure centers of the brain and results in a rewiring or "patterning" which can be penetrating, persistent, and difficult to eradicate even if you want to

That's why sexual stimulation should be reserved for husband and wife only: it becomes a valuable part of the marriage bond that brings them together and keeps them together..

If Hussein's Justice Dept. could intervene, they surely would!

Obviously, ‘ol Cynthia's civil rights were violated as she was not able to simultaneously preach God's Word and be a practicing Lesbo.

But with a President Hitlery stacked Supreme Court, there will be no separation of Church and state and the Lie.berals will intervene everywhere!

Is she still drawing salary? The church to keep an eye on is in Leadim Kansas, where Adam Hamilton is building a$100 million shrine—

Thanks for reminding me on this. Personally, I believe that the moment an ordained deacon (seminarian, that is) or elder (seminary graduate) commits themselves to an "alternate" lifestyle of one's own same-gender gratification of reproductive equipment, he/she ought to at least immediately make provision for the charge to be filled by an approved trained minister, and resign his/her ordination, rather than wait until the time one is forced out of the assignment by supervision and/or the congregation.

This should be written up in the Discipline, and strictly observed inasmuch as a local serving minister should be the walking example of propriety as a member, leader, and representative of the Conference. To do otherwise merely serves to confuse the membership as to what a godly behavior consists of, and makes the Gospel a lie when the uncompliant preacher misuses the sacred desk.

It should not be necessary to even have to mention what I have just written.

(From the desk of a PK, formerly Methodist.)

What other classes of sin so easily encourage people to wrap up their whole sense of who they are with them? Do thieves or liars tend to see themselves as a such or is it just something they do, or even just something they like? Ditto with murderers or even heterosexual fornicators.

I noticed that as well.

It seems that only homosexuality has become a point of identity. Instead of recognizing that they are being tempted with homosexual temptation, they embrace it and let it become their identity.

Way to lose your soul.

Who ever heard of a serial killer Christian?

Or a kleptomaniac Christian?

Or a womanizer Christian?

Or an extortionist Christian?
