I see the spirit of 1789 is alive and well.
They’re in riot gear? Really, riot gear??
>>>”ordained in the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX)”
?
What I don’t get is this part:
It was at this time that Fr. Guillaume de Tanoüarn, ordained in the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) and co-founder of the Institute of the Good Shepherd (IBP), began offering the traditional Latin Mass to all who desired it.
It is important to note that the IBP, which offers the Tridentine form of the Roman Rite according to the 1962 Roman Missal, is in full communion with the Holy See
According to wiki:
Pope Benedict XVI declared that for doctrinal rather than disciplinary reasons, the Society has no canonical status in the Catholic Church and because its lack of canonical status, the ministries exercised by its ministers are not legitimate in the Church.[1] However, the Society maintains that the Holy See gives some recognition to the canonical existence and ecclesial ministry of the Society’s priests.[2] Tensions between the society and the Holy See reached their height in 1988, when Archbishop Lefebvre consecrated four bishops against the orders of Pope John Paul II, resulting in a declaration of excommunication against the bishops who consecrated or were consecrated. However, the excommunication was removed in January 2009[3] with a hope expressed that all members of the society would quickly return to full communion.[4][5]
I don’t think it’s accurate to say they are ‘in full communion’.
“The guy grabbing the altar boy looks like he may be a Muzzi.
“
My thought exactly. How many of the police involved considered in their hearts that they were raiding an infidel prayer house?
And — I see the word SWAT on the back of a police shield. Did we just loan France some equipment?
The cops won’t dare do such as this when this Church opens as a mosque next week.
The priest is IBP now. Some FSSP priests were once SSPX also. Both the IBP and the FSSP are in full communion with Rome.
thank you..
Context for the photos or you’re wasting my time as well as yours.
If they are squatters then evict them. I don’t give a crap. If the landlord is not calling the police to have them evicted then that is their problem. Or is this is a group of squatters that the police have refused to remove?
That’s the only context that doesn’t make your pictures pissing in the wind.
Damn riot police will storm a church to evict a RC priest but wont lift a finger to stop a feral human muslim from murdering their fellow countrymen.
WHY ARE ALL THE WORLD LEADERS BOWING TO ISLAM?????
except the Chinese and Russians.
Something doesn’t jibe. Why make this overt display of assaulting the Priest and congregants DURING MASS? What was so urgent that the assault had to be done so ... obscenely?
And they won’t do this to muslims.
The future of any who name the name of Christ.
If they won't defend European women from rape, do you really think they'd drag the invaders out of a building by the scruff of their necks?
I don’t care if you don’t give a crap. Catholic churches were built for Catholic worship and largely financed by devout Catholic laymen. These laymen planned on these churches being used by their descendants for that same worship. When apostate bishops later attempt to sell these churches to secular or non-Catholic religions, Catholics have a right to peacefully protest. Instead these same bishops are donating, not selling, churches to the muslims.
Catholics are no different from everybody else.
PAY YOUR BILLS and RESPECT THE LAW and this kind of thing wont happen.
Obey the laws? Like Catholic hospitals having to pay for birth control and abortion services for their employees? Like Catholic pharmacists being required to fill morning after prescriptions?
Kinda iffy. When a church is deconsecrated the inside is gutted as much as possible. This doesn’t look like it.
When it comes to churches, French law is odd. If built before 1905, the State confiscated the churches, but still let’s the religious use them for worship. If built after 1905, the Church (eg the Catholic Church) can not own the building, instead it is owned by a lay association of people in the community.
It is hard to tell, but from reading other stories, it seems that the lay association which owns the church is made up of modernist catholics who pretty much abandoned the property. The traditionalists took it over and maintained it as best they could.
Along comes a developer who offers the lay association 3 million. The traditionalists can’t match that offer, so the church gets sold.
It’s a crappie deal for the traditionalists, similar to what many of the Anglicans are going through in the US, having their parishes taken away from them. The French Bishops are almost all modernists, so they won’t lift a finger to help a traditionalist group.
As a side note, in a few years, there will likely be more traditional French Catholics than modernists. Not because the tradionalists are growing so fast ( they are growing, but not fast) but because the modernist church in France is losing members so quickly.
