Pope Francis: ‘Every Religion Wants Peace’
Breitbart ^ | 27 Jul 2016 | Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.

In a brief address aboard the papal plane en route to Krakow for World Youth Day, Pope Francis expressed his conviction that the world is at war, but it is not a religious war, since every religion wants peace. The Pope told journalists traveling with him that the world is not only insecure, it is at war. “But it’s a real war, not a religious war,” Francis said.

“It’s a war of interests, a war for money. A war for natural resources and for the dominion of the peoples. Some might say it’s a religious war. Every religion wants peace. The war is wanted by the others. Understood?” he said.

Jeremiah 13:8-10a Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you,” says the Lord God. “My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God.

“Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace...

Not all religions define “peace” the same way.

Yes — in some technical sense.

That’s why Christ incarnate, when addressing the Jewish expectation of a Messiah who would bring political peace by leading the Jewish people to a worldly victory, that He “did not come to bring peace, but a sword” (and went on to describe from Old Testament scripture how conflicts would rift families).

If you want political peace, you don’t have to bother with issues of righteousness — just issues of brute force. If you want a heart peace, then you need the ministration of Christ, but since it is voluntary some will refuse it, and that will lead to conflicts in the world.

Surely, the Pope can’t be this ignorant.

A lot of people of his ilk (tree-hugging, kumbahya, 'can't we all get along', commies) believe this line. Basically they don't believe the Bible, and they don't understand why anyone else takes their Religion seriously. It is all a matter of getting everyone employed at good wages (impossible), and all will be well.

The Koran directs its followers to destroy non-Islamics.

There will be no peace until Jesus returns, and it is not true that "Every Religion wants Peace".

And nobody can really “believe the bible” until believing God. Because the bible insists on being a personally relevant work, not just somebody else’s story.

The Marxist “pope” is a delusional buffoon.

In Normandy there’s an 84-year-old dead priest missing his head. He might have a different opinion.

A Christianesque veneer on Marxist — utterly human willed — underpinnings. The result isn’t going to be true to any flavor of believing Christianity at all. Not traditional Roman Catholic, not Orthodox, not Protestant.

The Roman Catholic church is going to be forced to make a choice. The concept of pope with any credible authority appears poised to wink out with Francis.

Islam wants the peace that comes from conquering all others and then crushing those within Islam who differ on even the tiniest detail from those in power or from those with car bombs.

Christianity wants the peace that comes from obeying God and from doing His will without unnecessary violence. As a Christian, I see our duty to God as supreme, of course, but that duty includes an obligation to forcefully stop Islamic terrorists from harming the innocent.

It sounded like just babbling. Incoherent.

If the Church is to awaken, it sure doesn’t seem likely to come from this guy.

Which means it must come despite this Pope

When this Catholic thinks of this Pope, one word comes to mind - pathetic.

This situation is going to put a number of Christian (Christ-rooted) virtues to the test. Defensive acts are permitted to Christians though not always mandatory (spreading gospel takes precedence where it is applicable).

And speaking of this — evangelizing Islamic populations is going to take a steely determination and special supernatural blessing that is rare, if existent at all, today. However that is the only thing that can truly undermine the menace of jihadism, which is driven from hell not just from earth.

There’s a difference between (peace) an absence of conflict and (peace) an absence of any belief other than your own. Christians and most other religions accept the former; Muslims demand the latter.

Uh…the Muslim idea of peace is to kill everyone who believes in a different religion than Islam. Surely, the Pope can’t be this ignorant.

No your pope is not ignorant, but he's hoping you guys are...He is just pure evil...

One of my fantasies is that the day will come when somebody asks, “Is the Pope Catholic?” and the correct answer will be “No.” It looks like that day has arrived.
