Mainline Christian Denomination Praying to Allah?
CBN ^ | 6/28/16

Posted on 06/29/2016 6:04:50 AM PDT by Lera

The Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. is raising eyebrows after lifting up prayers to Allah at its General Assembly meeting last week.

"Allah bless us and bless our families and bless our Lord. Lead us on the straight path - the path of all prophets: Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad."

These were the words that rang out over the congregation at The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, USA meeting in Portland, Oregon. Wajidi Said, co-founder of the Muslim Education Trust, led the attendees in the prayer to the Islamic deity - a move arranged by the Ecumenical and Interfaith ministry staff at the assembly.

The prayer was part of the "first order of business" during the meeting's opening session, a time dedicated to praying for those affected by the Orlando shooting that occured just weeks before.

"In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful, let us praise the Lord... Peace be upon them and peace be upon Allah," Said prayed. He also prayed peace on the "bigots" and "Islamaphobes."

The PCUSA is not a Christian denomination

They emphasize the PC a bit much.

You are correct. I was stating the neo-Marxists’ reasoning, such as it is.

After all, the secular attacks I mentioned were first leveled directly at Christianity (see György Lukács and his “cultural terrorism” work in the Béla Kun regime). The effect, while certainly having an impact, simply was not as overwhelmingly powerful as the neo-Marxists had envisioned.

Christianity has a history and, most importantly, a basis (Jesus Christ) that far exceeds Islam’s, which is evident whenever you examine the adherents to both religions. In other words, one works and is based in reality, while the other does not and is not.

Your first post on the subject we’re discussing:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not the “Allah” of Mohammed, certainly. We aren’t addressing the technicality that the term “Allah” was used, prior to Mohammed, in Arabic translations of the Christian bible. Mohammed stole the term, just like the term “gay” and even “liberal” has been stolen today by respective language thieves.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You stated that the word “Allah” is used in the Arabic translations of the Christian Bible, prior to Mohammed and Islam.
You thus imply that the Arabic word for “God” or “Lord” is “Allah”.

I told you that the Islamic call to prayer uses a word that is not “Allah” to mean “god” or “God”. Here it is, transliterated:

Ashhadu an la ilaha ill Allah

English translation: I testify that there is no god but Allah.

Obviously, the line is not “there is no Allah but Allah”.

“Allah” is a proper noun, not a common noun.

This seems to be counter to your implication.

Where is “Allah” mentioned in the Arabic translations of the Bible? Do you have a link you can post, besides someone else I’ve never met saying “Allah is in the Bible”? A link to BibleGateway or other online Bible in such a translation?

[[The Arabic word for God is Allah, no matter the context?

That being the case, why are two different (but similar sounding) words used for god/God in the Adhan?]]

No it is isn’t Arabic , Aramaic and Hebrew are very similar
El in Hebrew , Eli in Aramic not allah , the word allah means CURSE

Matthew 27:45-46King James Version (KJV)

45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Are you angry enough to look for truth? Try Google, for the first obvious thing. It’s out there, and Arabic Christians know it.

The term is linguistically cognate to the Hebrew ‘El which is also a term for deity. News flash: Islam wasn’t even on the scene when Christianity came to Arabs speaking Arabic. Missionaries used the same term that Jewish Arabs were using in their Arabic translations.

Methinks way too much is being made of the claim that the term Allah was invented (rather than stolen) by Islam.

‘Allah’ was a generic word for God before the advent of Islam. There are no capital letters in Arabic. It is not at all the same as the Hebrew Y-H-V-H, which is translated as LORD in the KJV. Y- is a proper noun, not a generic term.

That’s actually irrelevant in talking about English-speaking Christian denominations using ‘Allah’. They are knowingly insulting the memory of millions of Christians murdered by Islam, and acknowledging their dhimmitude.

The one world religion is coming. I was going to go to the Together 2016 rally on the Mall in DC next month. No thanks. It has morphed into a Globalist ecumenical “doctrine doesn’t matter” fest. Pope Jorge “Red” Francis is going to make a Marxist speech via satellite. What true Christian wants to be a part of that?

Yep
This denomination is no longer Christian though like many others . Either you follow follow Christ or you follow the world but you can’t do both and real Christians follow Christ . PCUSA like many others before them have forsaken Christianity and turned to leftism . There may be a few real Christians scattered in the denomination but that would be very rare.

“For the life of me, I cannot fathom why people are falling all over themselves to appease/accommodate Islam and Muslims.”

FEAR!

Fear of condemnation by those who are politically correct

They don't fear G_d. They don't fear perverting His Word. They don't believe that Yah'shua is the way the truth and the life. They don't believe G_d’s Word.

In their minds, all gods are equal, and all faiths are equal. To them worshiping any faith's god, is permissible. They purposely forget that even the muslims insist that allah is not the same as Yahweh.

Christians in Indonesia are prosecute for using the term allah.

They forget that in G_d's Word, that worshiping anyone, or anything, other than Yahweh, is worshiping demons and Satan. Note that the name Yah'shua (Jesus) contains the name of Yah, which is a shortened name for Yahweh. Yah'shua means Yahweh saves.

Yep I just don’t think that the “globalist” are going to get what they want . They are using Islam to try to break Christianity because they think they can control it . Don’t think they can . Notice how Rome has even pronounced they worship the same diety as Islam and watch what is happening in Europe on how they are being overrun by muslims.

You will find a place. The place isn’t important. As I heard a priest say a long time ago, “I can say Mass over a beer barrel.”

The Church is the body of believers in Christ. So wherever you worship, He will be there. Praise G_d that you follow Him, rather than the dictates of man.
