My Mom died from it.Prays up for you and your Dad.
He quit smoking 35 years ago.
He basically can't do anything in the way of exertion. He's 79 now, and this disease has stopped him in his tracks.
I haven't seen any improvement in the year he's been dealing with this. It's very discouraging.
Interesting. I've seen NO progress with my dad, and have wondered if it's because of his age.
This COPD diagnosis seems to have come up quickly and taken over his life in the last year or so.
I'd like to see what kind of improvements can be made in his quality of life, because so far, he seems like he's just spinning his wheels at best. He sleeps with oxygen on, and has one of those portable units that he's only supposed to have set on "2" (I believe they go up to "5") but that setting doesn't seem to help much at all.
If there is something to your assertion about "get the best doctors" then I need to figure out what that means...

May God provide comfort to your fear and worry. Take in mind the “old” ending from the Our Father: “Keep us free from sin and all anxiety.”
May God also provide temporal healing, if it be His will.

May our heavenly Father take your dad in His loving hands and heal him. May He also grant to your dad the graces to conform his life to God’s will. May your dad’s health be restored and, when his time comes, may God grant him a happy and holy death! May God bless you, him, and yours!

Well, It sounds very difficult for you. I may be too simplistic. The best pulmonary specialist may not be able to help. My advice is predicated on the fact that many times we sell out to the local docs and they are not up to speed. I have much experience in the wrong doctors. COPD is the old “emphacima” from smoking. If the lung damage is irreversible then there is not much that can be done. I’m sorry.
