AND not only that, she was not arrested for failing to carry out some ‘law’, she was arrested for CONTEMPT - but you can easily argue that ordering her to obey some non-existant law is not valid order.

You seem to be reading that law as saying that anything a judge orders must be obeyed - and that is not the case. He can only order things that are lawful

So, once again I ask- what LAW says she must issue a marriage license to same sex couples. According to HER STATE LAW (and marriage licenses are a stat issue) says she issues licenses to one man and one woman.

If a County Clerk said he won't issue gun permits because he's a Quaker, would that excuse him?

Actually, under the 2nd amendment we don't need a permit for our guns.

Having said that, I'm sure another clerk can be found to issue that unconstitutional requirement.
