That’s how I saw him...wasn’t of interest to me...just another motivational speaker.
I remember when we studied Emerson in American Lit in college. The class got into a big argument over immanence vs. transcendence. Maybe theyu were both right.
Not necessarily. As a prior poster pointed out, there are people who are not traditional in their theology who are strong constitutionalists and strong conservatives.
No, he wasn’t.
“God says”? Who says God says?
A writer says that, and some agree and some don’t.
You both might be very interested in the writings of Aaron Martin Crane. His books are oop, and available for download on archive.org.
I was kind of amazed when I found him a few months ago; I had thought that my survey over the past few decades had uncovered all of the seminal New Thought writers; but I had never heard of Crane before. He appears to have remained obscure.
His major writings are: ‘Ask and Receive’, ‘Right and Wrong Thinking’, and ‘A Search After Ultimate Truth’.
My Best,
JT
I’ll have to look him up. He’s not a name I recognize, and I know just about all of them.

That’s how I felt! It was really surprising to find him.
Like Troward, he must have been a very modest man ;-)

Yes, I would guess so!
Thomas Troward was a colonial judge in Punjab, where the Sikhs live. I believe that he may well have studied both Sikhism and Hinduism.
a while ago, I was facilitating a course on Troward. Quite fascinating. Did you know he served as the first VP of the International New Thought Alliance (which turned 100 this year)?
It’s been on my list for a while; but I spend all of my time reading the originals - especially Troward. One could spend a lifetime on him :-)
-JT
True. He strongly influenced Ernest.
Not to mention Emma.
I greatly appreciate Ernest; but in recent years, I’ve become more partial to his brother, Fenwicke. Powerful mind, wonderful writer.
-JT
Kind of like that question, “What is truth?”, huh?
Fenwicke is brilliant. He was the writer who inspired Taniguchi to start teh Seichi-No_Ie movement.
Ever read any David Seabury?
