USCCB Statement on Marriage Ruling

Today Archbishop Kurtz issued a statement about the Supreme Court’s marriage ruling, calling it a “tragic error that harms the common good and most vulnerable among us.” Read the full statement here.

Archbishop Kurtz compared the decision to Roe v. Wade and how it doesn’t change the truth- which is “unchanged and unchangeable.” He continues on to say that, “Neither decision is rooted in the truth, and as a result, both will eventually fail. Today the Court is wrong again. It is profoundly immoral and unjust for the government to declare that two people of the same sex can constitute a marriage.”

It is a deep truth that the human being is an embodied soul, male and female. The archbishop writes, “The unique meaning of marriage as the union of one man and one woman is inscribed in our bodies as male and female” and notes that this is part of what Pope Francis has described as “integral ecology.” “The law has a duty to support every child’s basic right to be raised, where possible, by his or her married mother and father in a stable home.”

The bishops follow Jesus Christ who taught these truths unambiguously, and the president of the USCCB encouraged Catholics to keep speaking for the truth and moving forward with the theological virtues of faith, hope and love. Archbishop Kurtz ended by saying, “I ask all in positions of power and authority to respect the God-given freedom to seek, live by, and bear witness to the truth.”

It’s in our bulletin this week along with Archbishop Sample’s article “Simply Wrong.”

The bishops have to stop hanging around with the very Democrats who are responsible for abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, phony global warming, and the rest of the liberal agenda they and now the Pope seem to have no problem with or don’t want to punish the Democrat sinners who push them, like Pelosi, Biden, Leahy, Casey, etc. etc.

I’m looking for the port in the female where the zygotes come out, and I’m looking for the port in the male where the babies come out.

Abomination. A desecration of what makes us like God - the ability to create another human being.

Here is an effective statement:

As of today we are instructing all faithful Catholics to no longer submit to the authority of the state by changing their w-4 forms to EXEMPT and refusing to file and pay income taxes as a form of peaceful and non violent resistant to the lawless Federal Government.

We further urge our fellow bible believing Christian brothers to do the same until the state reverses the actions of the Supreme Court.

There are 70 Million Catholics in America and over 28 million attend weekly services. If they would withhold their income taxes it wouldn’t be long until the government took notice and they can’t kill us all.

Do you see some connection between withholding your taxes and the Supreme Court being incorrect? It is incorrect and risky to break the law by not paying your taxes. You can be arrested and go to jail for doing it.

You would be more effective to call for a national boycott until the politicians have to correct what the court has done. Politicians can remove marriage from the topics the court can rule on. That would be a Constitutional and legal solution.

God forbid we should do anything incorrect and risky against tyranny. Nothing's worth being arrested and going to jail, eh?

There's still a method for the white-livered slaves, and that's to cut back on income until they fall below the threshold at which income tax filing is required. But that's so awfully inconvenient.
