Satan's Toy: The New OUIJA Board: The 'Charlie Charlie Challenge'
Various | May 26, 2015

Posted on 05/26/2015 8:04:51 PM PDT by topher

I have read the following 'fact filled book':

Possessed: The True Story of an Exorcism by Thomas B. Allen (ISBN 038542034X). In the book, the boy tries to reach his dead aunt using a OUIJA board. He instead is possessed by 10 demons.

Fast forward to today. Children are playing a new game: The Charlie Charlie Challenge. One basically builds a 'OUIJA' board using a sheet of paper and two pencils.

There is a YouTube Video that explains how to do this.

There are also articles on the Internet about the 'Charlie Charlie Challenge':

Could you describe a “cleansing” process? I played with a ouija board at the age of about 10. Ever since I’ve had bad dreams. I was baptized at 17. Correlation is not causation, but....

Cleansing’ means you have to seal the Ouija Board. It’s also interchangeable with the sealing process where you lock/begone the demon. Yes, one person can do it and it’s enough. If the evil spirit is attached to you or the place, then I recommend the cleansing.

ummm, can i go back to being the fag hating jerk from Hollywood instead of the ghost dude on FR? XD

“I have never, ever seen anything to suggest demonic possession. I have heard stories, but the evidence is always wanting.
You can’t “contact” the dead more than you can reach into the sky and pluck the moon out of it.”

This story of a possessed boy lacked tangible evidence but had decent witnesses:

“As is true of most reporters, I’ve encountered my fair share of people asking me to investigate crazy happenings. But this was the first time that the wild claims were backed up by high-ranking police officials and two Indiana Department of Child Services employees.”

When I was 10, I spent the night with my cousins and we played Ouija. Some weird things happened to me after that and I didn't get rid of the effects completely until I was an adult and knew the importance of prayer and fasting.

Here is a quote worth reading:

“We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of the American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel.” ~ Karol Cardinal Wojtyla, who became St. John Paul the Great {Karol Cardinal Wojtyla, “Notable & Quotable,” “Wall Street Journal” (Nov. 9, 1978), 30.}

That was the case on which the book and movie “The Exorcist” was based on. Many cases of possession are caused by people either fooling around with a ouija board or some other occult practice.

Just last week I saw a ouja board in a tourist shop. There was a man there who wanted to buy it but his wife said absolutely not. Smart lady! If she had said yes I would have intervened and recommended they not buy it for the reasons stated above. They might have thought I was nuts and bought it anyway, but I least I would have tried.

But there is no video, audio, or pictures? In the modern age?

Everything is captured on camera these days. But not demon possessions?

So these high ranking officials didn’t have smart phones? Or did they just not carry them that day?

I agree that game is not a joke. We had one in our home. One day someone stole my mother’s old antique chair because my dumb brother left it outside. So she asked the OUIJA what happen to it. It told her that she could find the chair several houses down. It told her someone was walking by and took it but she could find it in this house and it gave the color of the house. My mother went toward the house and yep the chair was right there sitting on the front porch. Of course, she couldn’t walk right up because she would be trespassing . It goes to show you that this board is not a game to be played with.

Also a side note, my mother has a gift so she only uses it when she needs to, along with the gift to discern.

After my mother and father passed I trashed the board out of the house and my life.

I don’t think the board itself, a charm, cards, spells, etc...have any real evil substance to them. IMO, it’s just a tangible object. The person’s willingness is the conduit for malevolent forces. Opening yourself to the influence is the real danger. Those things just give you an excuse to try.

Interesting story. Good comments. Always pay your parking tickets and never play with a Oui ji (yes yes) board. Also, never playing Bloody Mary and Charlie Charlie.

If a person has foolishly played with a Ouiji board, then he will need to light the board on fire, pray the rosary and distribute the ashes in the dirt. If he follows these three simple steps, then the depression, lack of sleep, domestic arguments, excessive worrying and excessive drinking will fade away.

If a person plays Bloody Mary and Charlie Charlie and sees a demon, then he will need to pray the rosary daily, go to confession weekly and attend mass regularly in order to remove the unclean spirit.

Zac King has done it all and lives to tell about his deliverance by the Lord Jesus Christ, True Light, Infinite Goodness, Eternal Wisdom and Good Shepherd.

I played with a Ouija board as a kid.
Nothing bad ever happened.
It’s just a stupid board for suspicious people to be afraid of.
It can no more find a demon than it can divine a winning lottery number.

Let me put it in overly simplistic terms.

1) If you follow Christ you deny yourself and follow Him. That means willfully releasing control of your destiny (the free will God grants us) and choosing to let Him be the focus and control of our lives. Luckily, a perfect and loving God makes that a safe choice.

2) Using a Ouija board is a very fast very complete method of willfully trying to release control of your life to something else! So if there’s no perfect and loving God on the other end with the gift of eternal life it would stand to reason that just about ANYTHING ELSE goes.

Let that sink in real good for a while.

Even if you mostly think it’s just a silly game what is the symbolism of what you are doing when you play? In what way is that any kind of GAME? Is that really a good idea to play with? Maybe you don’t reach anything bad the first time you play, maybe you do. Maybe not the first 100 times you play. Maybe not in your entire life... but even once as a few other FR posters have mentioned is too much.

You can’t call it superstition because you are taking part in a ritual designed to get a response. It’s not like walking under a ladder or black cats crossing you path. YOU are LOOKING for the other side and demanding it control you.

Can’t understand the appeal.

[ I remember lots of urban legends about Ouiga back in the 70’s. One was supposedly the family tried to burn it after they discovered it was evil but it would NOT burn. So they finally sold it at a garage sale. I guess it’s still out there somewhere. ]

bull crap, they didn;t try burning it hard enough, they should have introduced it to Acetylene and oxygen!!!!

I cannot believe people actually believe some lame parlor game is actually channeling Beelzebub.

It is not a "parlor game" - it is the occult. It is very, very real and very, very dangerous.
