It’s always bothered me that Jesus let the woman go, IF she had actually committed adultery - was Jesus soft on adultery?. But He also proclaimed that the Law was still valid, so obviously not.
Jesus of course knew if she had or hadn’t committed adultery - so my guess is that the whole thing was a setup from the get-go, no actual adultery took place, and the woman was in on the scam.

.... and most sodomitic acts occur between men and women ---simply because the sheer numbers are so much higher.I have to wonder about the accuracy of this statement.... I can't imagine the percentage of women who participate in anal sex is all that high unless there is more that falls under the definition of 'sodomitic' than I'm considering. What is your data source?

Sodomy is
Anal or Oral Copulation. I understand "copulation" means a completed sex act, i.e. with ejaculation.
I don't know how they document this, but I've read that it's very common, especially in the young-and-stupid set, i.e. having come of age since the BJ Clinton era and with sex-ed now telling kids this is fun, normal, and a great way to avoid pregnancy.

BTW the place to look would be SEICUS and the AGI (Alan Guttmacher Institute) -— they’re the ones that do the huge statistical surveys. I don’t have time to google it now -— it’s past my bedtime.
