Please address your specific concerns to the Religion Moderator, a person for which I’m very grateful and who is infinitely more knowledgeable and qualified than me to address specific religion issues.

That was against forum rules. Play nicer, please. R2z So is "mind-reading," but in all the years I've been here I've yet to see a Protestant get dinged for "worshipping Mary" comments. Believe me, I've been here long enough to know which way the wind blows.

I responded to a direct post from you.
Or does someone have access to your rubber-stamp, maybe?

You are accusing me of what on this thread? You may speak plainly. But show the evidence of my wrongdoing.
To: Resettozero
Showing respect for Mary. Wrong or right, just how I wanted to write it.
To: JPII Be Not Afraid
The truth is Catholics do not care what you think. We will pray as we see fit. I hope they care what the word of God says ..I hope some might see the foolishness and superstitious practices that they are hoping will save them will fail
I hope to drive people to the word of God to seek truth of Christ..
To: Resettozero
It’s too easy to fire off short, snarky responses. If we had a delete button, I’d probably take back half of the ones I write. That’s one of the problems with instantaneous, non face-to-face communication. Sometimes the moment gets the better of you.

That’s the thing you don’t see, this is how we believe God has asked us to pray. Just because you don’t acknowledge it doesn’t make it false.

If it's not instantly a resounding *NO!*, then you need to very carefully consider what you believe.
Peter tells us in Acts 4:11-12 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Capitalization of the word "He" ordinarily is in reference to Almighty God the Father, or Lord Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit.
Capitalization of the word "She" denotes attribution of deity to Mary the mother of Jesus! That's just wrong!
What about the respect due to the mother of Mary? And her grandmother's mother? Aren't they due the same respect and why not?

So is "mind-reading," but in all the years I've been here I've yet to see a Protestant get dinged for "worshipping Mary" comments. Believe me, I've been here long enough to know which way the wind blows. What happens may depend on wording. In fact, the Religion Moderator profile uses this example in two places, both relevant here:
I will not decree what is or is not truth. The poster who claims "Catholics worship Mary" may believe with his whole heart that is the absolute truth whereas another poster with his whole heart may believe that very statement is an abominable lie. Both sides should argue those beliefs on "open" Religion Forum threads but never resort to ad hominems.
and
For something to be "making it personal" it must be speaking to another Freeper, personally. "Protestants are heretics" is not making it personal. "You are a heretic" is making it personal. "Catholics worship Mary" is not making it personal. "You worship Mary" is making it personal. "Mormons worship many gods" is not making it personal. "You worship many gods" is making it personal.
I see the logic in this distinction, though I also see the tension in practice.

You are accusing me of what on this thread? It's very simple...I maintain there is something fundamentally wrong with a "rule" that allows me to claim "all Catholics are tax cheats," but gets "you're lying about Catholics" deleted.

It appears when the false teachings of catholicism are exposed to the light, catholics start crying about being "kicked." When the FLaK is heaviest, you know you're over the target.

When you feel that way, I'm told that you can request the RM to remove your post. Whether it is removed or not remains the RM's decision otherwise.
To: Resettozero
how did you know the poster is a member of the PC-USA? I was wondering that too -- maybe reading minds? Or trying to "take a shot" (and looking mighty foolish, I might add...)?

Evasive and non-responsive post.
Why did you go off on me? Why did I get your wrath? Show me!
To: WhistlingPastTheGraveyard
It was in response to someone calling Catholics ignorant. It wasnt an unprovoked zinger. Catholics shouldn't get all that worked up about being called *ignorant*. After all, they don't have much problem calling non-Catholics *ignorant*.
Does the term *invincibly ignorant* ring a bell?

Capitalizing the pronouns is technically reserved for deity.
And they are capitalizing *she* for Mary?
And they claim they aren’t deifying her?
